THE IMPACT OF TELEVISION ON CHILDREN

The man had been very inquisitive about the surrounding. The abundant natural stuffs allure his spirit and compel to cogitate of it. This led to uncountable and extraordinary discoveries and inventions. They have indeed transformed the human life easy-going and comfortable. It is the secret how the nomadic and savage life was converted into sophisticated civilized one.

Despite all this, It has increased the level devastations and havocs. The world has witnessed the consequent catastrophes throughout ages like world wars that claimed immeasurable lives and properties.

Out of these human strides, the television was quite revolutionary inventions. It shook the very root of human social livings. Now the world has become transparent wherein even the minutes or least important issues are relayed in no time. Moreover it has reshuffled the social pattern. The man residing far on the altitude of the Everest sheds tears for the flood and famine affected people of Kanyakumari.

The television also facilitates an individual to formulate the information about art, music, politics, economy, sports etc. Its rightly said that a child learns more from visual output. From the breakfast time to supper at night, there is the only thing being discussed.  

It has also brought few drawbacks along with it. It has affected almost every section of society of all age groups. The young children had been more sufferer than any of them. The television creates certain complications like-

2.       Backbone problem

3.       Wastage of time on useless stuffs.

4.       Less time remains to study

So it has degenerated the health standard of young children. According to the several surveys done in this regard by multiple agencies and organization, the television maniac among children has not only victimized the young kids but their parents as well. The parents roam about the hospitals the get the beat treatment for their children in place of going to their offices.

So the famous saying seems worth mentioning here that excess of everything is bad. A child requires to stick to the tv only for short span time of devised schedules. The parents should be very vigilant toward them while sitting in front it. Thus television can be the storehouse of information if properly managed or it can devastate the man.

O saints! with pious view to live

LIFE IS A JOURNEY

It is, but a journey

To unknown.

Sometimes together with,

And next to alone;

Here is a hope, and

There is despair, to another door.

Whether to reach, or to

Losing in nowhere;

Shall we meet, the good or

Bad, in such a long run?

Mere be the fun;

Or we be lost, as

A child, in the fair.

Turmoil is the world

But peace is where?

A streak in the dark,

Alas! clear light is yet ,

To be lighted there.

As it begins with innocence,

And develops in illusions;

Oft ends in defeat to,

To young but hate to the end;

Before the domineering that,

Have I seen more, and

A lot yet to be seen;

Not are we to flee, but to stand.

Here is a light, but only, for a short span,

Remaining in nothing, in dense of dark;

The goal increases, as much we ran,

Time strikes us, strong and stark;

But man means, not to yield,

Better are hours, in fighting the field.

Life sometimes, on occasions, seems fun,

When the race, given to us, not fully run;

Though many flowed, in Time’s sway,

Still are remembered, who firmly did stay;

The man of will, by Time are flowered,

Who traveled forward, not backward.

THE PRECIOUS CHILDHOOD

Once a child of about six years asked me, "Why do the elders ever scold us to study only"? What I answered was just simple, "Dear , Its for your good, so that you may turn into a successful man later on." The child again asked, " Does success mean only poking into bulky books and being bitterly beaten by elders?" I got a bit struck, shivered. How does a child like him seem to be so inquisitive? But I had to do something to satisfy his eagerness. What should I say? How should I answer? Is the child is going to be unanswered? I simply said, "Success which the elders expect for is not the stuff from books and rotes but you may really become a man." Am I not a man then, an animal, the child again pinched my mind?  I hadn't satisfactory answer for the child. Some I deviated his attentions toward nearby chocolate shop and returned home. The curiousity of child hovered ever around me. Shame on me, I couldn't satisfy a child's querries.

     This is not the one and only case which occured with me. Everyday the childhood worth is crushed under threat of chiding and beating by elders all around. The elders don't have much time to think what do these child really need. They are forsaken in the care of nurse and other than the tightly busy parents. The elders only think that to grow up them and sending them to school is their only job. They forget that a child wants more than what they usually give so callled 'lavish' life.

We need to understand the psyche of the child and fulfill all the requisites physical as well mental and social. They need love and affection in early to later days than to be sent school in kiddling age.

MY FIRST BIRTHDAY AT 29

It is universally believed that the good wishes on birthday increases the longevity of a man. It intills with positive energy to confront with the mounting complexities around one's life. The faith in something has magical impact. When the people around wish for someone's betterment, it has medicinal and psychological outcome over the person.

The day was quite pleasant, mild breeze at dawn, chitterings of birds and the penetrating sunrays. But where is leisure to live. Be quick or be late for school. As usual the worthy neighbour cried, "O professor, hurry up." Thanks to the technological world, soon I emerged from my room, the message flashed titled LIC as 'Dear Lal chandra, Happy Birthday to you.' I eagerly showed it my neighbour and pleaded , "Please don't tell to anyone that today is my birthday.'

As usual I sliped out the class register from the racks of office and turned rapidly towards the class. It was extreme amazement when I heard all wishing, "Happy birthday to you dear sir" in chorus. I couldn't utter a word. The puff up of feelings recollected deep to my heart, eyed seemed to be wet, the heart throbbed, the legs shivered, I waited and waited and thought what to express.I don't know when I was born neither my parents ever told me. How long can the finger conting and week reckoning last? They forgot but the records never forget as they are made to remember. I carried on the DOB which our venerable primary teachers assigned up to now. I never showed the date to any of kv kids or least seemed interested in it. I kept fake DOB over all the internet ids.

I felt extremely delighted and elated on someone wishing my birthday. They showed the interest whereas I myself never seemed interested in my own birthday . Neither  I had ever expected that anyone would wish my birthday. So it was a novel experience for me. I felt like a child infront of all. They asked for treat, I gave to all which I could give. The day really seemed special when all passing by wished happy birthday.

The most stunnig moment was when I entered in class X and the same they also wished happy birthday and they too enjoyed singing and other pleasantries. They all made me realise that really my birthday was being celebrated.

The love and affection by the student absolutely overjoyed my heart.

But after two days school holiday, another surprising thing occured. I took the attendence as usual but after the assembly when I entered in the class I was infinitely stunned on them wishing me happy birthday. But the scene was quite different. The quadragular big cake piece surrounded by certain wraped object. I sensed the situation but was once again perplexed why were they celebrating twice a year in gap of merely two days. Neither I could understand it nor I wanted to ask, despite I thrusted myself in the arena and enjoyed the time. The students presented the Collections of Rudyard Kipling that was too precious to buy from any materialistic source. All enjoyed the cake and sang songs for me.Many others gave individual gifts too that was really fantastic.

Think like me, be at my place, then you will realise real worth of the time and occasion. Though I wished many on their birthdays but I was not wished upto 29th. So it was special for me, and will try to celebrate all the coming birthdays. I don't how many can I do. How can I forget the students, place and situation, no , never, its impossible.Before it I saw the wish, I heard but first time I felt it, I lived it. I realised the worth of the birthday celebration otherwise I was having negativity towards it as hypocitic show off and waste of money.

After all I wish for the bright and prosperous future for those students who showed their keenness in it. I extend my heartfelt goodwishes for them to get the goals of their life fullfilled.May god bless them.

AGONY OF LIFE

The man is under constant inflow of painful waves which pinch the mind and soul right from the birth. Inspite of it he endeavours alot to soften the distresses and travails but how much success he gets, almost nothing as the man is made to suffer under tight claws of time. Sometimes he frustrates for loss of beloved things or sometimes not to obtain the expected desires. The process continues althrough the life span of individual. From the advent of human race upon the earth the man has experienced it.Though a man may boast for the outstanding and extra-ordinary achievement in the long run of life but the real blackspot of human development is that he could not recoup the human loss of losing himself.

No doubt, today we are on the unprecedented stage of human development and the man has transcended and superceded all the previous reccords of advancement in every ambit of human life . Now he has earned the title of machineman, technicalman, roboticman, ans so others, but amid the same he has lost the human values which has been carried on from one generation to another. He has suffered the loss of human relationship. Though there are for namesake but the very tenderness and softness is lost somewhere in unknown land. Even in his own family he finds himself strange .

So this actual picture prevails in every section of society wherever a man lives. He runs after the perfection but does he get, absolutely no as the to adjust with losses has become his nature. where his competence retrogades he leaves on lot or time and tries his best to integrate with it.
