Theories of leadership
1. The great man theory:
The great man theory is based on the concept that the leaders are born with some qualities of leadership. The leaders are born with the gift of leadership.
2. The trait theory:
The trade theory also resembles with the great man theory of leadership. The trait theory believes that the leadership qualities of the leaders differentiate them from the non leaders.
3. The contigency theory:
The contigency theory off leadership emphasizes various variables in different settings the determine the style of leadership that is suited for that particular situation. This theory off leadership beliefs that no one leadership style is applicable in all situations.
4. The situational theory:
This theories very similar to the leadership theory of contigency. It proposes that no one leadership style super seeds other leadership style. Ek totally depends on different variables and different task of different nature in different situations.
5. The behavioural theory:
In this theory the main focus is on the very specific behaviour and actions of the leaders rather than they are traits or characteristics. This behaviour theory suggest that effective leadership is underly the result of many learned skills.
There are three major requirement of the leaders to lead his followers;
Technical, Human and conceptual
