OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM - EDUCATION AND CIVILIZATION

The people may say that going in the school, attending coaching centers or getting tutors at home is education. They may also consider that completing homework, reading and writing books, scoring high marks and getting a job is education. But education is beyond such trivial and narrow perceptions which rather limit and distort its true meaning.

Education is something which makes us man out of animal. We are entitled to be called civilized and developed race of the planet. We not only get education in the so called formal institutions and the hub of educational centers but also from the life moving around ourselves which too are the richest and biggest source of education. The raw mind gets ripened out of education that enables us to live the over laden life smoothly and successfully. It’s merely education that has transformed human race into present age of machine and technology from primitive nomadic state. It is education only that makes a clear distinction between man and animal. The man has the reason, power and resources to get education in systematic manner. The true education heightens our living standard and style among our people.

The big question in today’s scenario is whether present education system has really created cultured and successful citizen. It still poses a big challenge in front of us. We have to analyze into the mirror of the education systems founded, practiced and prevailed by our great ancestors and worthy forefathers. If we analyze deep in this regard a little deeply, we will compulsorily concede that ‘the conventional education system has no more power left in it to create civilized and successful citizen’. We will very easily favor the idea that ‘every education system is the result of a specific time and life in it’.

From the early stage of human life, there has been different mode of educating the people. And in the process of development of human race, it went on getting accustomed and adapted with the changed scenario. In every phase of time there have been three distinct categories of people. First those people who remained fanatically stuck to the bygone older habits, practices, cultures and traditions, second those people who happily and enthusiastically hugging the all the changes and third those people who stand between inevitability of changes and the worth of the past.

It’s really worth noticeable that ‘Change is the law of nature, there is no beauty without change’. We could not have hoped the use of computer and mobile, aero planes and sophisticated machines from the primitive uncivilized men, but we must agree that what we are today is the result of our forefather’s inventions and discoveries. Today searching of the newer planet seems sensational but in those days, the invention of fire, wheel and pots were not less sensational. They have been the backbone of all today’s development. What newer things we are developing today will become of secondary importance after centuries ahead. The invention of fire would have really dazzled the nomadic people. They would have got burning spot to their bodies but later they utilized the same for their advancement in sphere of human life like making the sharp weapon for hunting, to save them from wild beasts, to cook the food etc. The invention of the wheel lessened the burden of the back of the man. The animals were being used to carry the goods from one place to another. The society started assuming form. And the race of development quickened. The fire and the wheel is the reason why we are making synthetic materials today.

How can we say that only the present generation citizens are to be called successful?  Were Chanakya and Chandra Gupta not successful? Was Ashoka , the great a failure? Were Napoleon and Alexander, the great only the nothing? Were Mihirsen, Aryabhatta, Sushrut of no importance? It’s foolish to say that only present generation education system has potential to inculcate the cultural values. Think about Mahatam Gautam Buddha and Mahabira Swami, they taught the morals to the world. Such stalwart figures guided the humanity. Such eminent persons influenced the tide of their times and inspired the future as well. They are unforgettable and non ignorable. They left an indelible imprint in the pages of history and time. Throughout all our journey of life in the world, they are still paving the path to humanity with inextinguishable lamp of knowledge, courage, fearlessness, magnanimity, perseverance and many more.

There is only one thing to say in this regard that every education system has its limitations of the age and circumstances, but it has its importance not only in the associated era but also in all ages and times. It may be replaced by the newer ideas and better concepts suitable for the present needs, but it can never lose its worth. As the human life advances, so their needs also do. The glory and goodness of the past values should be carried forward. That must be molded and managed according to the time and situation otherwise it will become insignificant and meaningless. The old customs, values, practices, habits and beliefs should be colored in modernity, only then; it can leave an impression over the new generation multitude. If  any system, whatever and however great and magnificent it had been in its time, whatever influential it had been , remain adamant and stagnant, will vanish away from the world’s arena. The beauty lies in the very universality and timelessness of the systems. It must not be slave and stubborn to a definite phase and space. It must have human touch of all ages, places and races. Only then it can survive amid toughest and turbulent coils recoils of time.

Once, to get knowledge and education was an individual concern. Self inspired and self motivated man forbade the human pleasures of domestic livings, came out into the lusty jungles, vibrant valleys, robust mountains, tenderly rivers, pervading spaces and benevolent sky. He wandered freely and fearlessly. He felt the breeze, smelled fragrances and ate fabulous fruits. He wore the surroundings, slept on grass and grounds and befriended the insects, animals and plants. He smoothly travelled through shrubs, pebbles and thorns. He sat day to night and introspected. He explored the life within and beyond. He realized the facts and fables. He became a man of humanness. He acquired the blessings of manhood.

In the later ages, with the formation of social structures and concentration of populace, the learning and experience started getting institutionalized. The sages shared their supreme knowledge of life and world to other fellow men that were desirous and curious to get it. The Guru Shishya tradition commenced. Far from the human habitats, in the deep and dense forests, the Guru with his dedicated disciples, discuss and discern the complexities of live, world and universe. The pious bond and virtuous knot between the Guru and his disciples made elegant and elaborate quest for salvation and solutions of complexities and intricacies of human life and its relation with fellow natural world. Their combined endeavor together helped to guide and show path to advancement to human community. They taught the valuable lessons of living like brotherhood, love, benign, compassion, empathy, tolerance, benevolence, non violence, truth, chastity, mercy and above all harmony among all fellow living and non living world.

The advent of Lord Gautam Buddha and his practical preaching and precious sermons fueled the world of learning and knowledge. On his precepts and inspiration, the organized and well systematic educational institutions were established to maximize the benefits of their learning in the welfare of the mass common people. Thus the great universities like Taxshila, Nalanda and Vikaramshila were founded in different parts of the country. Thousands of monks and millions of disciples from nook and corner of the country and abroad enhanced its glory and greatness. Unfortunately, the mightiest invasions and internal cruelties prevalent in the country heinously damaged to the very heart of such glorious institutions. The monasteries were set ablaze and devastated. The innocent peace loving monks were mercilessly butchered.

Later, religious institutions like temples, mosques, churches and gurudwaras became the centre of quest, share and implement the knowledge to control, guide and propel the human behaviors and thinking. The scriptures were formulated and tenets were formed. Idealism, romanticism and deism took ground to balance and harmonize the social structures. The new principles, theories and doctrines were laid to enlighten the dormant soul and elevate human living to transcendentalism. Such religious institutions connected directly to the door of common people to heighten their moral, ethical and sacrilegious standard. The concept of god and divine power were made the matter of each individual’s life. The pilgrimages of Chardham like Jagnnath, Badrinath, Dwarika and Ujjain and many more were grounded. The priesthood, soul, afterlife, hell and heaven, gods, divinity, Karma, Bhakti, and Yoga became the part and parcel of every day’s life and business. 

After colonial era, we entered into modern democratic world. The machines, electricity and technologies changed the traditional values and way of thinking. Our priorities and choices got a big reshuffle and overhaul. The modern institutional like Kolkata, Mumbai, Madras, Allahabad universities were structured. Later academic, professional, medical, agricultural, engineering, technical, social, religious and diploma institutions and universities blossomed everywhere to fulfill the needs of present world and its population.

The new to newer education policies and commissions were launched time to time in the fast running and variegating world.  From Lord Macaulay’s Education policy 1835, Woods Dispatch 1854, Hunter commission 1882 to UGC 1956, Kothari commission 1964, New Education Policy 1986, 1992, SSA 2000, NCF 2005 and RTE 2009, and several other attempts were made to modernize the education system. The scientific, logical and analytical tendencies and temperament were boosted to compete with the global trends and developments. Innovative, creative and constructive measures are being incorporated, implemented and promoted in the field education. The concepts of education are fast changing. The practicality, demonstrations and experimentations are getting edge day by day. That is the sanguine prospect of future nation building. Above all, that will assist to the service of whole humanity. Moreover, the individual has immense freedom to soar high and deep into the horizon of knowledge. He has full freedom and scope to quest the undiscovered, unknown and hidden for the sake of well being of the human species. He is no more bound to myths, superstitions, strictures and scriptures, prophet obligations, god fear, religious boundaries, social outcast, ceremonial sacrosanct, elderly horrors of omens and hatches and community feeling .

Despite the rapid revolutions in the field of education, the loopholes still lie beneath the very lamp. The corrupt mentalities and evil intentions sniggering in the education policies, frameworks, implementations and executions have contaminated the whole system. For the lavish and unrestricted power gain, the foul practices are hugely assuming ground in the field of education too. The education that is the backbone of all developments should have been free from such ills and cruel practices. The clutch and hold of such venomous and crook people and politicians would have been least. Even the splendid policies rot up in the vicious hands of defective administrators.  Today, our education system is in very pathetic, poor and fragile condition. This needs to be revised, revamped, re strengthened and super inspected. The total control and administration must lie in the hands of honest, dedicated and visionary people.

To cite some instances about such ill functionaries, manipulations and embezzlements, that have afflicted all educational strata like higher, secondary and basic education. Though there are thousands of such wrong doings prevalent in higher education, but prominently affecting the systems are nepotism, authoritarianism and impressionism. The secondary education is no exception of it. But more miserable condition is of basic education. In spite of all reformative measures and constitutional provisions for free and compulsory, the education up to the age of 14, the mammoth money making, crippling the talent in the bud and negligence of duties have become every day’s harsh reality and bitter truth.

The recent happening in Bihar and Chhattisgarh of children’s death by food poisoning adds to the factor of such corrupt practices, wrong rulings and mismanagement. Whatever high slogans of meticulous administration, adept management and impartial government they make but the ground reality is that ‘the basic education is to the worst of its level’. This is shocking, depressing and surprising in eye of the nation. The local, national and international functionaries are spiting millions of dollars but the outcome is really very sad. The MDM and SSA and many more projects are getting introduced but practically of no use and no avail.

It’s better not to go school than to be neglected, abused and maltreated. Moreover life staking situations like eating pesticide in MDM, caste and status based discrimination and slum surrounding are more panic some. The officers focus more on the filling pockets than to improve educational conditions. It’s not that there is shortage of funds and budgets. If there is any shortage of fund, that is because the voracious and ravenous leaders and officers sitting in air conditioned easy armchairs. If they make visit to schools, it is not for supervision or reformation but to extract and distort money somehow and someway. The teachers are used to of such practices or they too have political access or local dadagiri.

It’s hurting and shameful when somebody makes the local poor people responsible not to send their wards well clad, well bathed, well equipped and regular. They prove those innocent common villagers guilty not to be attentive towards their wards and letting them to graze cattle and do household works. This is merely because one thinks like oneself in safe and comfortable conditions fetching a regular big salary.  There is one advice for such intelligent people ‘Just live their life for a single day; you will change the philosophy forever’. The main guilty is those who have the constitutional responsibility to plan and execute the rules. The Public must understand this and retaliate in the same coin if the government or administrator neglects and foils like that. Just remember, even the mother feeds the child, when it cries.

Imagine how the little buds are being nipped in the tender age. How can the child compete to the children studying in private schools?

It’s time to vow to do all our best in the interest of nation. We must raise voice against all malpractice prevailing. Education is the foundation brick of a huge flourishing nation. Where education gets clamped in political rigors, the future of the nation gets absolutely dismayed into utter darkness. It’s education that enables a man to become active member of the society and of the nation. The nation lacking the true spirit of education and stepping with flow of the fast changing time drowns into nothingness.

Its great urge and appeal to all dear citizens and countrymen to drive away all pollutants so that our country may become 100% literate and every individual may contribute to the best of his level in the development of the country

NO SHORTCUT TO SUCCESS- WORK IS WORSHIP

We are living in the surrounding where everyone is towards the pursuit of success. Some wants to score highest marks, someone wants to beat the rival team, someone wants to become film superstar, someone wants to become the prime minister and moreover there are many who want to become the richest person of the world.

It’s rightly said that all salute to the rising sun. The successful man becomes an icon and ideal for millions of men. It’s quite glamorous, lustrous and bewitching. The fragrance of success is felt far and wide. The people start up discussion, devotion and imitation of such successful personalities. The world worships the stardom. Around such people, a heavenly helm is created. The phase of best wishes, good luck and divine prayers get a start for such people. The slightest glimpse, shortest company and tiniest talk delight the hearts and please the mind of the fans. They start vowing and pledging on the name of their stars. They even start idolizing their icons by putting a physical statue in cleansed corner of the house. They pay a regular homage to them with all religious rituals and fervors. Their faith to their icons are to such level, even many of them establish temple and start worshiping like gods. These icons are the successful men and women from politics, sports, art and acting. 

To interview such successful men, one can find a chance to look deeper into the personality. The world knows only success. The world is blinded by the glitters of successes. The world forgets to look into the long and lethargic stories behind those successes. Just pick random few names of worlds’ richest and successful men, I say with full conviction and confidence that the stories of more than 90 percent people were full of hurdles and hurricanes. They encountered manifold heart rending and mind bereaving ups and downs. They faced the troublesome time and terrible people. They were left alone to die in dearth. The kin became the worst enemy. The world looked with doubts, suspicion and hatred. The time teased in torments treacherously.  The scarcity, hunger and helplessness could not tear their brave spirits. They fought fabulously with all odds. They emerged as a ruling star to shine in the sky. They illuminated the world around them by their perseverance, patience and commitment. They became the guiding lamp and source of incessant inspiration for whole of the world. They laid foundation of paramount courage, confidence and capability for the posterity.

The question naturally arises over here. Did these extraordinary fellows follow the short cut to get success? Did these supermen cut the bigger lines of someone? Did these fabulous personalities adopt illegal, mean and corrupt ways to get success? Did they stand in the way of someone’s growth and greatness? Did they show jealousy towards their fellow men who have already climbed to the ladder of success? Did they envy anyone when all had deserted him forlorn? Of course they did not. They believed strongly in their own self. They analyzed their own strengths and weaknesses by introspecting themselves than to stone the mud around them. They thought it improper and unsuitable to frown, accuse and curse others. They focused constantly on themselves and their goals.

The man is a dreaming creature. He imagines. He lives in the world of fancy and fantasy. This is the trait that differentiates him from animal. The animal does not dream, imagine or fantasize. The man dreams of bigger, wonderful and beautiful things. That soothes his body, mind and heart even if not actually attained and acquired. As someone has rightly observed that ‘Imagination is pre requisite of thoughts’. These are the thoughts and ideas only that lead to innovations, discoveries and inventions. I don’t oppose such fascination of the people. They are the stimulating energy that really makes him what he dreams.

All successful men and women had a dream of their own. They had a clear vision of their life. They imagined a world of their kind and lived it. They fancied and fantasized a definite goal, and with all their ventures and verity they attained. The man without dream and destination is like strayed ship in the ocean. The life is meaningless if it does not have any pre defined goal. It’s very simple to understand that ‘If someone has to go to a pre decided place, he may reach sooner and easier than that who does not know where to go”. All successes purely and prominently depend on defined and decided aims of life. As much clear we are about our goal, so easy it becomes to attain. The sooner we decide our aim, the sooner we reach it. As much quivering, covert and confusing our targets are, so much difficult it will be to grapple it. The clarity of objectives and validity of visions ensure its fulfillments. 

But thing that I want to attract the attention is that the medium that we follow in achieving our goals is very important. It is true that there is no shortcut to success. To achieve our goal and find what we are dreaming for needs hard labor, strong will power and undying spirit to achieve the target. The method of shortening the line of the neighbor is unfair and not works ever rather to draw a long line by own genuine efforts works. To be dependent on others is self sacrificial. The time, resource and caliber what one has, he has to depend on that only.  Time changes, so the moods and mindset of men. When and where will others reject you and your tenets?  Nobody knows. Our dreams and desires are our own. Why should others be so captive of our visions? To rely on other’s shoulders is rather catastrophic. That will lead to nowhere and nothingness.

If we recount the most successful figures of not only of the country but of the world like Martine Luther, Abraham Lincoln, Barak Obama, Dr. Ambedkar, Amitabh Bacchan, we shall find the truth hidden and lying behind their supreme successes. Abraham Lincoln became president of America after consecutive numerous defeats and setbacks. Barak Obama overcame the stigma of racialism and was elected to the prestigious and powerful post of America’s president and honored White House. Dr. Ambedkar rose above caste discriminations vigorously prevalent to untouchables. They were forbidden from education. But he challenged the bounds and boundaries by his indomitable spirit and enacted the marvelous constitution to such a vast democratic country. The mega star Amitabh Bachchan was hugely and highly rejected at radio services and bollywood films because of his hoarse and heavy voice and long stature. The same became the unrivalled and unparallel super star in film industry. So successes are not easy to visualize, predict and judge. The seed of success lies within all. What we require is to recognize and nurture them.

All successful men did this and ruled the hearts of the millions by their magical and magnificent performances. 

The significant stories of harsh hardships and struggles of so many successful men abound in the history pages and there are many living legends too. To mention the giant scientist like Edison who experimented thousands time to invent bulb and failed but remained persistent in his effort and lastly got huge success. The god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar had sweat in the hot sun to prove himself worthy for India’s most coveted honor of Bharat Ratna. Their path of success was full of thorns and thickets. Even in the tough, turbulent and tumultuous times, they were calm, quiet and confident. They sighed and sobbed but remained sanguine and hopeful of their ways and verities.

Success comes after long trial, experimentation and failures. What we need is to remain adamant and fixed on our goals and objectives. Then the success will kiss your feet.

The success is a step to step process. It has stages after stages. To think of jumping direct up to the roof is a blunder and foolishness. That is rather to crack the bones and melt the muscles forever. That will ruin up never to rise up again. It is rightly observed that ‘Haste makes waste and hurry spoils curry’. To climb the top, we require the steps of a ladder or lift, so is the case with success. Stepwise climbing enables us to reach the Everest, while direct jump destroys everything. Can anyone climb the Everest at one stride? Can the Everest be won in a day? Does the successful man achieve it all of sudden? Even the destiny favors the brave. God helps those who help themselves. We have to accumulate and count every second’s efforts to assess faultlessly. Success is not an object to be achieved at one go. The constant strike of water makes the pebble round, shiny and attractive.

Another big aspect of success is that firm belief, strong will power and self determination to attain the aim. The people most often become so impatient for the success. They expect the things to change overnight. They want success on the blink of eyes. If they fail, they change the goal. They keep on changing their aims and objectives. Such people die into nothing. They rather waste their precious time, resource and energy. It’s better to fix a goal judiciously and be faithful to it. The seed takes time to grow into a big tree and beget fruits. It requires watering, cleaning and utmost care to flourish and flower. If one sows a seed today and tomorrow becomes ready with sickle to harvest, it’s ultra stupidity and utter nonsense. 

The other notable thing about success is that whatever aims and objectives are being decided, that must suit the need, resources, caliber, strength and time. It will be another big mistake for nothing. This will make the life more pitiable and pathetic. Just imagine a case where a slum dweller dreams to become the wealthiest, wisest and most powerful man of the earth. He does not have even access to education, healthy foods and proper living. Will attaining the dream be possible for him? Will not his dreams ferociously shatter into pieces? Will he not be the object of ridicule and derision? Will not his total honest efforts waste? The goals must be wisely and prudently be fixed otherwise they will create chaos, callous and discomfort in life.

Another big blunder we commit is that we focus more on attaining our targets than to sharpen our skills. We aspire to be successful with least and minimum efforts. We will be pleased to achieve our goal more if we get it without any effort. This is the human tendency of comfort lovingness, sloth and inactiveness. That results in the damage of natural capacity and inherent stamina to tackle odds of life. This maims our instincts and their strength. The success is the outcome of our skillful, deft and diligent approaches. Without them, getting success is merely a mirage. The valiant, belligerent and puerile steps pave the path of success. Only dreaming of high achievements, fame and prosperity without calibrating our innate genius will only make down, broken and dejected. We should focus more on strengthening our skills than our goals. 

Talking about success and successful men, it’s worth mentioning that having the luxuries of life with dinner at seven star hotels, BMW, mansions and big propaganda are not the landmark of success. Though materialistic propriety and ownership matter a lot, yet the real success is beyond such capricious and captivating concepts. The successful man is that who reins human heart. Those successful people sacrifice the worldly possessions for the smile and goodness of humanity. There are thousands of billionaires in the world but none of them can equal and parallel Bill Gates and Marks Jukerberg who donate millions for charity. Besides being the richest persons of the world, they are great human beings. The money in the pocket and power in public cannot make a man successful and great. He must have feathers of feelings to fly for humanity.

Be a man with manhood before being rich, affluent, powerful and prestigious. Success does not let you become haughty, arrogant and hypocrite. Success does not let you to deride and jest the fellow human beings. The real success is that which is full of considerate, compassionate and kind notions along with worldly powers and possessions. The tree over laden with juicy fruits bend and become more submissive than stand robust, straight and hard.

`NATURAL RESOURCES VS DEVELOPMENT Live and let live

The supreme power of the universe has created the man. And for the man, that has created the beautiful world, the beautiful nature. If that has given hunger to man, the same has also given the store of foods to satisfy his hunger. If that has given thirst to man, the same has also given water to quench his thirst. In short, if that has created man, as the man has limitless needs and to fulfill those needs of the man, that has given this beautiful and wonderful nature full of natural resources like green world, water, space, light, air and many more so that his created man may survive in the world. That has given all and everything suitable for the man’s easy existence.

The bounteous and beautiful Nature is the ultimate and sovereign source of ores and raw materials, on which the total structure of development is based. From the basic needs like foods, lodges and clothes to luxurious and extravagant needs like mobiles, computers, cars and bungalows, the man is compulsorily dependant on the Nature. The fuels, fibers, ores and ornaments are dug out and extracted from the Nature. The petroleum products which are the backbone of any nation’s economy are dug out from the natural wells. Other sources of energy like coal, hydro power plants, nuclear fusion by thorium and uranium, windmills and solar energy are the natural byproducts. The bricks, sands, mortars, plastics, woods, stones, glasses and irons are the constituting components in structural buildings. The metals like bronzes, silvers, gold, diamonds, pearls, ruby, crystals and emeralds which leverage the world’s business and beautify the personalities are found in the earthen mines. The marvelous minerals like mica, platinum, cobalt and plutonium found in the womb of the Nature sustain human development. Does the Nature take any payment for such magnificence? Does the Nature complain against vicious practices of man?

We breathe because there is the Nature. We are born and grown in the kind and cozy lap of the Nature. The Nature treats equally to its entire offspring. The natural phenomenons like heat, warmth, coolness, chilliness, fire, water, air are the blessings and boons to planet occupants. The sun, moon, sky, forests, rivers, capes, valleys, mines, mounds and hills and mountains are the storehouse of life. Is the life possible without water? Has man created water? What is the role of man in movement of the air? Does the man originate the air? Can a man survive without air? Does the man pay for water, air, coolness and heat? Has the man got such natural things in wills and legacy by his ancestors? The man is bestowed with beautiful and bounteous world free of cost.

Once there was meticulous semblance and apt harmony between the man and the Nature. The man lived closely in the lap of the Nature. He lived in naturally built caves; shadow of the trees, huts and thatches made of mud and grasses. He wore tree leaves and animal skins. He ate fruits, leaves, stems, roots and small animals. He drank water in pools, ponds and rivers. Then, there was exuberant and optimum amount of natural objects in his surroundings. The fresh air, clean water and sonorous surroundings bewitched his heart and mind. He lived a long healthy life. The Nature showered all her blessings at his door. There was no greed, avarice and conflict between the man and the Nature. The Nature bestowed heat when her man shivered of cold. The Nature gave cold waves, divine breeze and scintillating rains when her man perspired in heats. The Nature offered cooing of cuckoos, song of nightingales, dance of peacocks, swing of trees, chirping of birds, gurgling rivers, waterfalls and rainbows for soothing and comforting his soul. The Nature gifted him vast panoramic dales and valleys over laden with eye pleasing and heart solacing multicolored sweet smelling flowers. The man lived in cozy companionship of his benefactor. 

 But in the process of time, the man became mad of development. He has greedily increased his limitless demands and multifold requirements. From the rustic rural dwellings, he moved towards urbanizing his life. He commenced an era of commerce and industries. He boasted to be called civilized and a superior race. The inception of an age of lust, luxuries and loathsomeness took place. The discovery and knowledge of iron, bronze, silver and gold triggered the speed of transformation from nomadic primitive era of naturality and simplicity to settled civilized era of artificialities, complexities and rivalries. The accumulation and coagulation of the human population at river banks wrote the first chapter of urbanized and organized developments with well designed houses, roads, industries, furnaces, factories, wells, pools, transportations, markets, commerce, jewelries and other infrastructures. The rash and reckless drive to gain power, prestige and property initiated. The brutal battles either for authority or for the supremacy endangered the human race. In all such crazy and callous acts of development, the Nature was hugely and highly overlooked and neglected.

Today, the heinous rivalries and sword edge competitiveness, in the blind race of development, the health of the Nature is speedily eroding and crumbling. The countries are measured on ‘Developed and developing’ scale now. The GDP and GNP are today the pulse of the nations. Upsurge in the Sensex is the barometer of the economy whereas the downfall looms glooms to the faces of investors and businessmen. The gold and petroleum products are treasures today. In the covetous race of establishing ownership on such stores and areas, the conspired conflicts are shaming the whole humanity by its repercussions. The territorial issues pervading in every nook and corner the world, have their inherent intents of dominance over global markets and its economy.

The West Asian countries are inflicted in unrest, bloodshed and terrorist acts. The so called developed and dada nations’ hands are behind it to squeeze oil stores for their own good. Recently China made an artificial island in the great China Sea. The nuclear and hydrogen bombs are tested by developed and developing nations to establish themselves as super power and commanding status.

The rapid and insane trend toward urbanization and industrialization has stabbed pointed and poisonous dagger right in the heart of the natural world. The roads, skyscrapers, vehicles, industries, machines are becoming larger, sophisticated and essential day by day. They now occupy and consume more free natural spaces and diminish the natural resources. It results in more diminish, shrink, endanger and pollute the natural world. The sizes of the cities are expanding furiously. The expansion of cities is such a huge that a person revisits there only after a month, he gets perplexed by seeing the variegated maps, landmarks and designs. The wells, ponds, canals, rivers which have been sometimes lifelines and pastimes of the people are now buried, dried, damped and disappeared. The gardens, forests and natural worlds fed and fostered by such water bodies are now extinct and vanished.

The foolish man started treating the Nature like its master, owner, ruler and authoritarian. He assumes his mastery over all his natural phenomenon and endowments. He plucks the flowers and fruits with the idea that they are under his sole authority. He thinks that he can use them the way he wants. He cuts and burns trees, makes dams and bridges, kills animals and mines out the minerals with the notion that they are all his subjects and subservient. He tames the wild animals like dogs, cats, goats, sheep, horses, bullocks, cows, buffaloes, birds, snakes, fishes and even dangerous animals like lion, tigers, bears and elephants for his foods, entertainment, domestic purposes, commercial purposes and money making. It is quite strange and awkward that the man has started subduing his own creator and source of life. To treat the benign Nature like subordinate servant is the big blunder of man. It’s an open invitation to own end. The Nature is the fellow companion that must duly be revered and respected. Otherwise the man has to undergo an immeasurable loss and destruction. Maltreating the Nature is writing the story of own deaths, dangers and disasters.

The trees have been the most faithful friends of mankind throughout the centuries.

He required woods for making huts and houses. He required woods for fire and fuels. He required woods to make wheels. He used woods to make boats. He used woods in carts and crafts. He depended wholly on trees for all his needs. It’s no exception to say that the early phase of development was triggered by the vicissitude use of such trees. Even today, the trees have big role in industrial and infrastructural development. The wooden furniture is still the axis of attention of the visitors in houses and offices. It will be no wrong to say that ‘Where there are trees, there is life’. The atmospheric structure with componential gases, their proportions and purities are directly due to the abundant trees. The life giving oxygen gas is derived from such wonderful trees. The huge deforestation for the sake of development brings heavy and heterogeneous calamities like global warming, ozone layer depletions, greenhouse effect, pollutions, ecological misbalances, floods, draughts, starvations, depopulations, earthquakes, hurricanes and volcanoes. The biodiversity gets brutally harmed.

As the wood world is getting depleted frantically, and the government has become a bit vigilant to save environment, the overuse of plastic and its items has started in place of woods. This has created another havoc and health hazards to man and his surroundings. The wood is bio degradable and naturally decomposable whereas the plastic is not easily perishable. According to the latest surveys and researches, the plastics have become the biggest killers than any other diseases in the world. To satiate such a sundry population, the plastics are visible and scattered everywhere in ditches, ponds, canals and rivers. They stunt the growth of the grains into plants. The stray animals eat plastics with eatable wrapped and thrown in them. The city seems sordidly shrouded and suppurated by the shit plastics. Methane and other dangerous gases originate in form of fatal fate of man.  The plastic monster is gulping the cities and its people and galloping open on the street. It has become irresistible and uncontrollable. This is all because the unjust and unfair voracity of man to development.

The coals and petroleum products are the roots and backbones of all development. No development is possible without them. In modern urbanized and industrialized century, the development in all government and private sectors of all nations fundamentally depend on such fuels and fossils. Since these sources of energies were discovered, the speed of human development hastened unexpectedly. The overuse and high combustion of such fuels have highly contaminated and endangered the healthy atmosphere by disturbing the natural components and their combinations. The lead, carbon mono oxide, carbon dioxide, CFC and other venomous gases have concentrated in the atmosphere. This has disturbed and devastated the ecology, environment and biodiversity. The newer fatal diseases are spreading. The various species are becoming extinct and rare. The glaciers are melting. The sea level is rising. In spite of international conferences on such critical issues, no unanimous consensus could have been found. To save their economy from slowdown and pace the path of development, all are shifting the onus on others. They all accuse one another to minimize the carbon emissions. The deadly demon frowns upon both development and developing countries, but none of them want to retrograde and retrospect. They all want the highest economic advantage by hook or crook even by suppressing and strangling the throat of benevolent Nature.

Such are the other metals and minerals lying deep in the depth of the Nature. The man tore the chest of the Nature and sucked up its blood to death. The benignant Nature shrieked in sharp pain and expressed its distress in forms of floods, draughts, quakes and plagues. When the pain becomes intolerable, the Nature warns in forms disasters. The ignorant, negligent and ungracious man is bluntly blinded in pursuit of his development.  He does not show any sign of gratitude to the Nature. He is madly swallowing up the blood, muscles, marrows, bones of the Nature by deafening and deadening its breaths and beats. The Nature’s health is becoming hollow and horrible day by day.

The man has started misusing and damaging the natural resources gifted to him by the supreme power. The amount of natural resources like coal and petroleum are being unscrupulously exploited and wasted. No doubt these natural resources are for the man and for the creation. But they are in limit are supposed to serve the humanity from generation to generation. We don’t care about that what the coming generation will do if we destroy the natural resources. We are running blindly towards development and for the sake development and economic benefits; we are damaging the natural resources. The day will come when we shall have nothing to use if such practices continue.

The inebriated and intoxicated man from development has forgotten his ethical duties to preserve the sanctity of his natural surroundings. As having the honor and glory of being the wisest and superior race of earth, he must watchdog his surroundings and resources. If not for other of his fellow creatures and natural world, at least he must save them for himself and his coming generations. As the man bears the child, fosters, educates, marries, deposits and plans about the future of his child, so that the his child may live happily, so he must save the natural treasures for the sake of posterity like an elder. Along with inevitable development, he must devise means and measures to save gifts and grandeur of the Nature for his offspring who are still awaited. Can a father and elder finish away the foods, some by eating and some by throwing and wasting leaving nothing to his children? Can he see his children starve and die?  He must show elderliness by preservation and conservation of the resources in the interest of future children.

Though development can’t be stopped but certain other measures can be followed to stop misuse and blind exploitation of the natural resources. We must adopt the formula of sustainable development. Use the natural resources judiciously to fulfill the need of present generation without compromising the interest of coming generation.

MAN AND MACHINE Complementation or contradiction

Since the dawn of human race on the planet, the man has ever strived to unravel the mysteries of Nature and his own surroundings. In the pursuit to satisfy his eagerness and quench his thirst, he has to confront and struggle with numerous mortal challenges through ages. Many of them staked their life in the raging waves, scorching and blazing sun, frowning and ferocious tornados, disastrous and deadly draughts, catastrophic and callous flood and heart tearing extreme chilliness.

Despite all these hostile and demoniac sides, the Nature tutored them lessons how to cope up with these havocs. In such a wild and beastly race, the men became instrumental and mechanical. Out of such terrible ventures, they unveiled and initiated the era of discoveries and inventions.

To satisfy the fire of stomach they shifted from raw flesh and fruits to sophisticated and synthetic foods hugely available at dhabas and hotels, from natural rivers and ponds’ water to filtered and mineral water, from skin of plants and animals to synthetic fabricated cotton terricots, wool, silk etc, from the tree branches and caves to sky crappers, from barefoot roaming to aero planes, satellite launchers and mammoth titanic ships, from rounded and pointed stone weapons to nuclear bombs and missiles.

It’s no exaggeration to quote that, “What we imagine today lies somewhere in the womb of future, as imagination itself has its limitation than the probabilities in the universe." The primitive men would never have thought of flying in the sky @ the speed of thousands kilometer per hour to the height of 11000 kilometers, the bullet trains @ speed of 500 kilometers per hour, more than 120 storey magnificent sky crappers, marvelous and mammoth mars and moon missions, intelligent computers and magnum mobile smart phones. But all these were existing and possible. Once the battles were fought on horses, elephants and camels with armors, swords, spears, bows and maces, would they have thought of tanks, fighter planes and jets with rifles, bombs, machine guns, revolver and missiles. But they all existed somewhere. The men who roamed through shrubs, pebbles, rivers and hills would have never thought of wonderful, broad and glittering roads, train tracks and airways where the vehicles are roaring and running furiously at great speed.

The things we observe around us is merely the smallest quantum of possibilities of the universe that we have achieved till now. We even can’t imagine what lies in the depth of future possibilities. The human and his mind is itself the minutest part of the mega, immeasurable and vast cosmos. More than our mundane imaginations are still waiting to be explored. The present scenes, scenarios and situations will vanish away. These will be wrapped, read and studied into the pages of history only to know the stairs, steps and stages of human advancement. These all will be very soon replaced by many other new concepts, life styles and objects. Our choices, likes and dislikes and living standard too will be greatly transformed.  This process is natural, instinctive and unstoppable, may it even lead to self destruction.

All these were the byproducts of natural instincts of human race of surpassing all the barricades in the way of his dominance over other creatures and to quench unfathomable desires of his own as well to sustain his life to more comfortable level. This is the untiring endeavor of humanity which has proved his supremacy and worth. Such tendency lies in the very nature of man. To quest, query, and commit leads towards such a combats with nature and fellow beings. The man reached to a civilized stage with his magnificent attainments by his superior, special and superb design of brain and body.

Moreover in life’s fast horse race and prolonged activities from home to office none has fraction of time to spare.  This has resulted in invention of mobile phones, bikes, cars, computers and internet. Someone has rightly said that" Once it took millions of years to change the life’s scenario while today it changes every second ".

Today we are in the close grip of machines. Even the tiniest of our activities are being governed by machines. We depend more over machine. We bathe, brush teeth, put on cloth, live in beautiful flats, comb hairs which are machinery byproducts. Wherever we are, either at home, on the road, in the market, in the office, in the schools, movie theatres or playgrounds, our daily life is gruesomely grabbed and clamped by machines. At home, we have washing machines, coolers, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, watches, television, mixer, stove and oven. We have bicycles, motor cycles, iron press and cars. Outside home, we have buses, trains, aero planes, rickshaws and auto rickshaws. At offices and in factories, we have machines and machines all around. We are hugely surrounded by such omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient machines. To say that we have become parasites to machines is no exaggeration. From our very birth to the last breath, our life is under the rule of machines. At our birth, may it be home or hospital, different machines and mechanic procedures are used. We grow amid machines like toys and technologies, and are carried, buried or cremated again with different machines and mechanical procedures.

Our dependency over machines has mounted to a pitiable level. Life itself seems unimaginable without machines. We are too habituated and used to of it. They have become such a constant companion; they live with our breaths and beats. From the dawn to twilight, they live with us. We wake up and find the machines around, and sleep with them in the surroundings. As the breath values for living so has become these machines. Years before, our life was limited only to bread, cloth and house. One's life seems withholding if he has missed or forgotten the cell phone at home. One seems stifling if his car got punctured on the way. One wanders whole of the city for cylinder gas shortage. 

The life seems dull without them. The machines are the modes of information, recreation and entertainments. The toys, televisions, mobiles, computers and theatres squeeze away dullness and monotony from our life. They don’t let us feel alone, bored and dead. They are ever ready to shake our dozy slumbering spirit into hilarity and ecstasy.  They cheer us up to live with our benevolent brethrens. They lighten up our dormancy, sloth and laziness. They brighten up our morose surrounding with joy and laughter. They instill life in lifeless moods and mindsets. Moreover they tighten the bonds between our kiths and kin by enjoying the movies, matches and shows sitting together. 

It is not merely the symbol of strata in society but fundamental requirement of human beings. Once having such machines was considered to be the status symbol. That showed the sign of richness, glamour and greatness. On their advent, they were inaccessible, unaffordable and unknown for the common people. They were taken as the matters of wonder, magic and miracles for people. The invention of cycles created huge sensation amid people. The one who has a cycle was most revered, discussed and venerated fellow. The people flocked together to have a rare glimpse of it. To get a chance to touch was emblem of pride. If one got any opportunity to have a ride, he was considered the most fortunate and luckiest person of the earth. He heaved deep to show his utter delight and dignity. Such was the craze towards machines on their arrivals. Initially the people got haunted with wonder and surprise of meticulous machines, later they got virtually accustomed after they became simplified and sustainable. They became inseparable requirements than merely being the object of standard and supercilious life.

Today, every sphere of human activity like education, culture, administration, agriculture, science and technology, politics, medicine and research has been mechanized. The vast and vicissitude machines have dominated subserviently all human acts and activities. The mechanized diagnose, treatment, surgery and operations have revolutionized the medical field. All pills, syringe, tablets, syrups, drops, bondages, artificial organs and all other medical accessories are produced in mechanized factories. The whole hospital and its peripheral and infrastructures too are the outcome of mechanized factories. The robots can do surgery more accurately, timely, cheaply and intelligently than men. The tractors, thrashers and levelers have enhanced the farmers’ capacities hundred times more than what they actually have. The climate prognostication and forecast has also enabled them to avoid damages and take benefits of favorable times and seasons. High breed seeds, fertilizers and pesticides too have helped in agricultural advancements. These were possible only by mechanization of factories and industries. The traditional pattern of agriculture to burn the forests for temporary agricultural purposes to use the fertility, and then abandon after it became unfertile, have changed. From such devastation of green world forests, the more durable and static agriculture started with the advent of meticulous machines.    

Though machines started being the part of human life, right from his appearance on earth, yet it has been ever the matter of concern and discussion that how much the man owes to such devil machines. Once there were few handful machines with them, but with passage of time, there are numberless of them. The dominance of these lifeless machines in human life is increasing rapidly.  The man’s life is becoming lifeless at many ways. Will the man be covered, crushed and controlled by such machines?  Such exuberance, suffusion and deliverance of machines may be havoc and hazardous upon human life. The humanitarian people and organizations have raised high slogans against over emphasis and over use of machines. They criticize machines of extracting job, prompting poverty, increasing the gulf of rich and poor and above all infusing inhuman values in the society. They also proclaim that human behavior is fiercely being mechanized beyond all human emotions, love and fraternity.

Although we can’t deny the machine’s role over human beings, yet one thing is still unanimously accepted that the human brain behind it is decisive and dominant factor. Firstly machine is manufactured by the man himself and secondly machine requires to be operated by man, which justifies that the man has still its place and worth over machine. Our general and universal acceptance of the perception is that whatever the progress in the field of machines and mechanization we make, they will ever be instructed, guided and controlled by the men. The natural genius and innate capacity of man to think, analyze, decide and act will ever be dominant over the artificial functioning of machines. The machines need command, directions and prompts that will be executed by superb man.

To think of their mastery and control over each other will rather be superfluous and vain. Why to juxtapose them in contradictory position? Both the man and machines have incarnated together to co-exist, co-operate and co-stand. The Nature has made man. The man has made machines. All of them are integral and inseparable part of each other. Both of them are not contradictory but complementary to each other. Man makes and operates machine whereas latter makes the task easier and faster. It saves both energy and time. Both have journeyed long way together and longer they have still to journey. Man is the master.  Man is the father. Does any father speak, think or act ill of his own son? The son may sometimes not act as per the instructions plans and programs devised by the father that does not mean absolute worthlessness, disobedience and spuriousness of the son. That does not scandalize the lovelier knot between them. The man and machines are not two poles but the resident of same time zones.

This idea has generated the horror in today s mind of "What will be the culmination of this uninterrupted advancement?" Whatever the reality is but it’s undeniable fact that unforeseen growths of machines have been observed of late. New to newer machines are assuming grounds in human life. More intelligent, calibrated, automated, predictive and capable machines are becoming the inevitable part and parcel of human life. Manual labor and tiresome works are vibrantly replaced by dynamic machines. The factories have more machines than men. Even the houses and offices have the story where their spaces are covered and consumed more by modern machines and the least by men. In such a situation, it’s very natural to be amazed on its futuristic prospects and possibilities. What will be the future of man and machine?

It’s again the nature of man to adapt and adjust. With the changing time and its needs, he transforms himself. This is the one big factor of his survival, supremacy and dominance whereas millions of species became extinct. In recent years much hues and cries have been heard about threat of losing human innate temperament. The speedy and salubrious loss of humanness and all his natural instincts have been in the pivot of discussion and debate. We have started showing our concern and anxiousness towards impending catastrophes. This is the good sign and a virtue to survive in the brutal struggle of survival. The academic institutions, renowned universities and their scholars have started to design syllabus and curriculum to mould and moderate the human thinking, behavior and emotional aspects. Till the human species reside on earth, no other power can surpass him. The human race is born and destined to rule this planet in all odds and evens.

The machines will remain machines only. The master will be the man. If man devises a machine, makes it super powerful, he can also destroy it, if he smells any wrong in it. To get entangled in the futile discussion of foe and friend, is of no practical use. This is only to pain and pinch our minds fruitlessly. This may be good time pass stuff but finally it is going to give nothing at all.

The man is absolute master of everything. He will master everything and never will he be mastered by anything.

INDIA OF MY DREAM Where love to humanity is religion

I am an Indian and I love my country very much. As a true patriot, I dream to see my country flourishing in every sphere of human life. To enhance the glory and greatness of my country, I am ever prompted to sacrifice every bit of blood, beat and breaths of my life. Each hour and every moment of my life is destined and devoted in the service of motherland. I adopt all methods and measures to add every charm in greatness of the nation. I want to see my country to be counted in the prosperous and beautiful countries of the world. Moreover, I want that my country must be in the cadre of developed countries where there is no poverty, corruption, communal tensions, social and economical imparity, injustice, crimes and many more.

India’s one of the most abject part is her poverty. Once India was gloriously called ‘The Golden Bird’, but today her 2/3 of the population is hugely stricken by the curse of poverty. The Arjun Sen Commission in 2008 surveyed and made an analytical research on poor people’s income. The report said that there are 83 million Indians whose daily income is between Rs.6 to Rs.20. The report further says that 29 million Indian’s daily income is merely Rs 6, 26 million Indian’s daily income merely Rs 11 and 28 million Indian’s daily income is merely Rs20. To analyze it impartially, one can easily find how pitiable the condition of such a large population is. Is it possible to run life in such a meager income?  It’s unimaginable that how these unfortunate poor Indians are living their life.

The story doesn’t end here. It is rightly said that “Poverty begets strife” and “Poverty is the root of all evils”. These saying have hidden indications and implications. Our country is afflicted by numerous diseases like crimes, illiteracy, inequalities, unemployment, communal tensions, discriminations, starvations, malnutrition, corruptions, naxalism, health issues and hundreds of other evils overtly or covertly because of poverty.

The equivalent and balanced economy of any country is the mark of progress and prosperity. I dream the country where the resources, power and prestige are equally and impartially distributed to its citizens. I dream the country where the resources do not lie in the countable few hands that lavish their life with full facilities and the multitudes are destined to live their lives in penury and want. I dream the country where the richer don’t get fatter each day and the poor shrink to ribs and skeletons. At one side, there is the splendid cars, outstanding ornaments and magnificent mansions and another side, there is rotten roof leaking, crumbling and rotten huts in filthy stinking surroundings. If such disparities and discrepancies subsist, the glory of India can never be regained and revived.

All the governmental and nongovernmental bodies and other thousands functionaries should try all the possible and feasible measures to alleviate poverty. Merely enactment of statutes and statutory agencies will not suffice to attain the objective, genuine commitment; sense of ethical obligations and virtuous honesty should be observed and displayed in ample amount.  The true nationalistic, patriotic and service feelings should be fostered and nurtured among all our citizenry.

The most neglected and apartheid area of our country is education. Though there are the mammoth organizations, policies, commissions, curriculums, provisions and programs, the condition of education in the country is not quite fine. The universities, colleges, schools pervade every corner of the country but they are unable to attain the 100% literacy till date since independence. The central and state government along with private institutions could not fill the gaps of literacy among men and women, rich and poor, urban and rural. The tribes who contribute around 8% of Indian population spreading particularly in the India’s frontier states like North East, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, have been highly ignored. These poor and impoverished tribal Indians still live in primitive, paucity and penurious states. The rapid growth of privatization has also created the gulf between the poor and the rich. The children of affluent and high class study in prestigious renowned private colleges with all modern facilities, organized systems and fabulous infrastructures whereas the poor have no option other than the filthiest and rotten government colleges.

Today government, private and NGO’s are extorting huge amount of charities, services, subsidies and donations from the global beneficiaries to promote education, healthcare other fundamental amenities of life. The IMF, the World Bank, the UNICEF, the UNESCO and great benign personalities like Bill Gates release thousand millions amount for benedictions and benevolence, but the corrupt and capricious practices among our people are only making their own feathers to shine.

The quality of education also matters a lot. The education is to promote scientific, logical, liberal, free thinking, as these are the impetus of human growth. But the condition is just opposite to it. The party in power tries to color whole educational system in its view point and ideology. This conspiracy is merely to perpetuate their dominance and power ever and forever. They hatch to make their ways of power unchallenged, unrivalled and opposition less. Such tendencies may benefit them to enjoy rudderless luxuries but are disastrous and catastrophic for the country. They may enhance the literacy rate, but quality education which is the essence of growth of any county will be beguiled and defiled. Along with the increase in the rate and ratio of literacy in every walk of life, liberal education must be promoted beyond all conservatism, fanaticism and traditionalism. The reason, logic and catechizing should be taught than superstitions, beliefs and fables.

In a constitutional and democratic country, the government and its bureaucracy, stands for ‘Of the people, for the people and by the people’. The people elect government and the government selects the bureaucracy to run the country for the sake of its people. The government is fully responsible for all administration, policymaking, welfare schemes, crime control, economic and social harmony. The government has to fulfill the growing aspirations of the people and public. If the government is responsible for literacy growth and poverty alleviation, the government is also responsible for making good living and livelihood conditions of all its citizens. Those who are hale and healthy, suitable for job, they must be provided job and opportunity. The jobless youths may turn towards crimes to fulfill their dreams and desires. Those youths may become the part of antisocial and illegal practices if they are not given an honorable condition to survive. There should be the ample space of creating job opportunities to utilize the youth power of the nation. As the youth population covers almost 75 percent of total population of the country, so they must be ignored anyway.

Along with the government sector opportunities, the private sectors should also be promoted. There may be copious chances to bring the nation on the developed front. By engaging the huge man power that rubbishes into nothing as government sector does not have the capacity alone to do this all, the vast contribution in the country’s progress can be made by the private sectors’ entrepreneurs and enterprises. Wherever necessary, the government and private sectors should cooperate and coordinate each other with motive to develop the country and bring all possible smiles on the faces of the countrymen. But the real condition of private and government partnership is disheartening and discouraging. The private firms are governed and controlled by some hefty men who have direct or indirect stronghold in politics, bureaucracy and society. They viciously affect the formation of government. The people in politics and bureaucracy are their kin, friends or beneficiaries who provide all unjust, wicked and illegal supports for their private firms. Such an unhygienic and gawky knot of nepotism and red tapism bruise the golden bird. The privatization becomes a curse when it does not move towards its desired end. It becomes a safe and strong tool in the hands of the ruler to befool the common people of the country. The country cries and screams in the dark and deadly duets of government and private conspiracy.

The various functionaries should also be established to ensure social and economical imparities. The slogan of equality, liberty and fraternity should become a reality. Every citizen should be treated equal in front of the laws. And they must have the right to dwell and earn anywhere in the country. All Indian must be able to live in the fearless, free and secure social surrounding. But, even after long 70 years of Indian freedom and government, the country could not abolish the curses like caste system, apartheid, untouchablity. What to say of curtailing and eradicating it, day by day, it is being strengthened and invigorated. This demon prevails in every walk of life, may it be village or city, schools, public places, play grounds or market places. Untouchability, even today is stark reality. This social system reserves the dominant, powerful and prestigious place of some ruler classes; they never want it to be eradicated. Their age long privileges which they had been enjoying may be affected. Their supremacy and dominance may get rivaled and subverted. They, with all money and measure want to eternalize, glorify and strengthen caste system.

There must also be the strict governance to vigil all sorts of communal issues. The bondages of fraternity, humanity and communal harmony should be energized. The peace, cooperation and non violence amid all people and communities should be spread and sanctified. The festivals and celebrations must be organized together in mutual friendships and understandings. But the communities formed centuries before are still fighting the fatal battles to establish their supremacy over others. They follow all means and methods to subdue and defeat the other communities. The bloodshed and bombing have become the day to day acts. The most degenerating and dejecting scene is when the prominent and powerful people instill the communal poisons to gain political benefits. The most communal riots are well conspired and designed by the influential persons in the politics and society. The cruel game and gimmicks to polarize the public on sensitive issues particularly during polls is widely known to all. The sentiments of the common people are fuelled and triggered for their hidden intents which public fails to sense. The party in power mostly feigns to control the scene and situations, and support and incite covertly in such cases, as their own hidden benefit lies in them.

The majority should not be allowed to harm any way to the minorities. India has numerous caste, classes and communities. They co existed since centuries in result of many consecutive invasions. Many of them settled here and formed a definite and different community. The majority community often threats to minor community to abide all its methods, teachings and tracts. The minority community resists and struggles to survive its own cultures, beliefs and identity. The minority community is full of fervor and dignity. It is ever prompt to save its distinctive ways of living whereas the majority community contrives to establish its ale or rotten beliefs over other by its resourceful and dominant status. This leads to a perpetual fight in communities. As the Indian constitution protects right and respect of all marginalized and minor communities, so must be the role of the government to ensure and guarantee it anyway and anyhow. Diversity is the beauty of Indian sub continent, so the numerous minority communities who carry few charming and enchanting traditions, must be well preserved and protected. The positive and encouraging atmosphere in the India and her people towards such minority people and their traditions must be made and maintained.

The big reason of all such clashes and calamities is that the communal feelings in Indian people are high. The source of such feelings lies deep in the scriptures, cultures and beliefs where communal feelings reign over the individual feelings. Even the teachings of sanctimonious verses and parables say to sacrifice the individual and individuality for the sake of whole and community. The wholeness gets more value than the parts. The individuality is like parts there. The communal feelings should be discouraged by the public authorities and the individuality and individual dignity of being human must be revered and respected. Being an individual entity is more important than being the part of a community.   

And there should not be promotion of religious feeling by the government rather every individual should have the freedom to choose the faiths and languages according to his own choice. Any group forcing such feeling to other group must be punishable by law. When the political party with some fanatic religious fervor starts propagating, promoting and sloganeering any religion, the misfortune of the country starts. The dissents, demonstrations and deadlocks to the government start. The government which was elected for the well being of the country and its people has to confront impasse, hurdles and objections in its way. Non cooperation from various sections of the society create standstill in smooth functioning of the government. So the government should be quite apathetic and liberal in the religious matters. Its prime focus should be the development of the country and its people. It must not be a machinery to advertise any sect or religion. The religion should be purely and primarily an individual matter.

There should be proper balance between man and his surrounding including nature. There should be symphony in man, animal, plants and all natural phenomenon. The harmony among citizens is propeller to peace and prosperity but that is void and incomplete without the man’s harmony with nature. In the fierce and filthy race of development, the natural world is brutally devastated.  Nature is the source of our life. As much the Nature will be assailed, so much the life of man will curtail. All know that the bounty of the Nature is boundless; they know its rage too. The government, private organizations and common people must be well aware to keep green natural world hale and healthy. Our health depends on the health of the Nature. So all efforts should be made to avoid mindless extract, exploit and sabotage the Nature.

I want to see my country where there is no jealousy to each other of any sort. I want that one person should respect the other’s individual existence and as a human being one should extend all possible support to others in the need. Even in the small resources and power, the country and its people will live in peace, prosperity and brotherhood.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION STEPING TOWARDS NATIONAL INTEGRATION

India is a sovereign country. It is ruled under the constitutional principles of equality, liberty, fraternity and justice. The democratic tenet to individuality and individual dignity stands in the pivot of the entire system.

The individual person when compared and contradicted under the several institutions of human life, the individual gets more value and regard. The institutions are constituted and constructed for the people not the people for the institutions. In the passage of time, since human race emanated on the face of earth, millions of institutions in the field of academic, social, religious, political and economical were framed and constituted, and later eradicated and obliviously forgotten. Those institutions were replaced and occupied by the newer types to fulfill the demands in changed time and circumstances. And the human race continued to grow and grow.  All stale and stinking systems yielded place to more vigorous and vibrant institutions.

The fervor and reverence towards democracy in 21st century nations is not hidden to anyone. Today majority of the nations have embraced democratic values and principles not only in institutions but also in their personal and family lives. The days of despotism, autocracy, dictatorship, kinghood and knighthood, oligarchy, anarchy and oppression is wrapped into the pages of history. Today the man is free to live life on his own accord. He is free for his choices. The democratic principles give him ample space to his own individuality. He feels self honored and self dignified. He is not being ruled rather he is an integral part of ruling.

The democracy works on the principle of –of the people, by the people and for the people. This theory lucidly emphasizes the value of individuality. For the human society, every individual has the fundamental right to live honorably. Every individual must get the equal space and opportunity to grow. No individual must be the victim of discriminatory isolation.

During the era of wars and battles, different social groups and ethnicities used to fight either for prestige and power or for survival. In such morbid and murderous situations they required the high breeds and better built up people who were suitable for the war and battles. The weak, old and ailing people with infirmities were supposed to be the burden on royal exchequer. Such burdens were mercilessly cleared off by giving treacherous deaths.

After the colonial esp. post war era, the democratic values and principles were championed, propheted and executed in world’s major societies. The foremost doctrine of democratic system is to deter and discourage all sorts of discriminations like color, caste, creed, language, gender, race and region which had engulfed the humanity into cavernous cavities from human society. The racialism by the Europeans towards Africans and Indians into white and black was the deadening reality some day, and to certain amount, that spirit of racial supremacy on high race ethnic base is still present.

Many Indian scholars and students in abroad are killed by a group of hooligans only because they are Indians, they were black. Mahatma Gandhi was himself victim of racial discrimination while travelling to South Africa. He was thrown out of the first class compartment sharp at midnight to a remote station. Nelson Mandela fought years to liberate his people from the discriminative British rulers. The renowned American president and the great champion of humanity Abraham Lincoln had to stake his own life to emancipate the black people from the bane of slavery. 

To retaliate the curse of racial and ethnic discrimination, these masters have all felt agonies and anguish through ages. The father of Indian constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar fought for the upliftment of millions of untouchables and downtrodden, who even don’t had the right to touch public tank and walk public paths. Such sages of humanity ever endeavored their best to inclusiveness and integration not segregation and isolation. They brought scattered and divided people of same anatomy together. They instilled the philosophy to live in harmonious bondages. They fostered the democratic doctrines like self respect and self reliance.

Gender discrimination is another big question. The women were marginalized and deprived of human living. But the advancement of constitutional democratic values has given a push to their condition. Today they are even piloting and progressing in all big competitions and rivalries, equally with their male partners. Slowly but steadily, the people’s perceptions towards women are changing. They all have started realizing the fact that to ignore the contribution of almost half of the population of women is to puncture the path of symmetrical progress. The women are to be made an integrative and integral part of all our acts and deeds. In no condition, they should be excluded from the main stream, as was done in previous ages. They were made the victim of child marriage, sati system, jauhar system, pardah system, widowhood and matchless marriages. They were segregated beyond all chances to grow as an independent entity. 

Most despicable situation is that the persons, born with disabilities or unfortunate accidental deformities, stay neglected and isolated to die in deep depression. The doubts, fears and lack of adjustment shatter the mental fabric and paralyze his spirit fiercely forever. Deformity and disability is no bar in progress and pleasure of man. We have millions of success stories who had been magically and exceptionally talented despite being physically deformed and disable. The life, works and philosophies of Stephen Hawking, John Milton, Soordas and Arunima Sinha and many more living examples still inspire and guide us.

We have developed our own freakish and futile scales to measure the minds and capabilities of an individual. The child with good academic scores, performance and records get more focus and attraction of all. The institutions boast of standard and merit. They insanely expect punctuality, discipline, morals, obedience, and humility, updated and up to date disciples. They filter away cream children from the rubbish and rusts. They show apathy towards low scorers, unpunctual, undisciplined and disobedient ones. They forget the fact that only good academic career and high scores don’t make a man live a successful life. Good academic records may help in getting a high salaried job, but it’s quite difficult to learn the skills of living.

To quote some names of people who hadn’t good academic records but they are, even today the lamp to guide the so called high scorers. The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, facebook giant Marks Zukerberg, the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar are the few names of them. The schools hadn’t good opinion about Thomas Alva Edison and Albert Einstein but they did beyond anyone’s imagination and expectation. Copernicus and Socrates were killed for so called varied and variegated views. What academic record Saint Kabir and Guru Nanak had, but they still rule the hearts of millions by their preaching and sermons. So, none of the child is to be nonsensically scaled on such trivial measures. Even the last child of the class should get due care and focus. He should feel honored and dignified. In place of sarcasm and segregation, they should be made the part of each school activities.

Inclusive education is to include and involve the faces of every strata of society and all walks of life. The children of all hues and color must be the integral part of the academic arena. In the physical look and individual capacity, they all may look varied but that diversity becomes a power after uniting together. Just like the shape of the palms and fingers, they vary in size and strength but after they unite into a fist, they assume an enormous force and blow. Our body is itself, a unique example. Different parts of the bodies have different roles like ears hear, eyes see, nose smells and skin feels so are others, but after uniting together, they form wonderful creation. If we separate all of them, they even can’t function, but after getting united, their strength gets multiplied. Same is the case of inclusive and exclusive education.

Time to time, the governments have planned to provide better and healthier facilities to differently able people. In the book of the governments’ record, we can find the girls colleges, colleges for blinds, colleges for deaf and dumb and colleges for orthopedically challenged children. Though government provides system, budget and manpower handsomely with good spirit, yet it is quite unaware with consolidated and integrated future impact of it. Human nature is built and brought up on the impressions of surrounding and situations a person lives in. We should rather create an amalgam of such differences. If the society, these young and innocent minds live in, is one, then why should their education and nurturing be different. The difference we create for them, likely reflect into their public dealings in life. To promote a separate arrangement for such children, whatever high budget and management may be, is to create a dubious wrestling ground of different minds and mentalities. To cry the slogan of humanity and harmony will be of no use. All efforts to pacify unrest and unruly citizens will fail. What have we sown while they were a child, we will have to reap the same.

The books and institutions give us stores of information. They fill our mind with pieces of knowledge. They make us aware and updated with the happenings around. They guarantee to provide us certificates and degrees. They provide us diplomas and qualifications. But the life skills and dexterity of living, we learn by mingling into human behaviors. We learn more by informal communications and less by formal communications.

Our notions are shaped by interpersonal relations and interactions. Our behavior is molded by looking into the eyes, gestures and personalities of others. We learn a lot unconsciously. The havoc of keeping all future citizens separately taught is the way to make more citizens of dissent and discordance. We are generating multiple groups fighting together with their innate instincts. Thus, we are rather creating chaotic and turbulent nation than a harmonious and symphonious one. We are on the way of making our own people as foreigners in our own country.

The worst scene is that those hallmarked for some disabilities, start developing a complex, negative and inferior mindset. They start thinking that they don’t have equal strength and capability like normal people. They start feeling isolated, depressed and psychic. They even feel that they are the burden on the nation. They develop suicidal tendencies.

In the age of lust and luxuries, the gulf between poor and rich is widening. The children of affluent people have the honor to study in air conditioned, multi storey buildings, well equipped with modern infrastructures and facilities, safe transportation, play grounds, healthy surrounding and well knit systems. Another side the poor children are mostly deprived of education or destined to study in meager and minimum resources. Above all, such schools are poorly managed, least funded and superfluously neglected. By such apathetic and negligible tendencies, we are rather creating parallel nations in a country. Such divisions and ruptures will engulf the peace and prosperity of the nation. Different minds develop in different circumstances. Those minds will one day, be retributive and avenging and demand for equal human rights. Otherwise they will move towards unrest and violence in forms of Naxals and Maoists. These are the outputs of all our discriminatory deeds shown during the upbringing and educations. They should be taught together with equal opportunity to grow. As soon as possible, we must forsake the double education policy. That will be good for the nation as well as for its people.

The recent surveys and researches have proven that each individual entity is unique in itself. Each individual’s capacity to learn varies from one to another. The amount of matter taught may easily be grasped and understood by bright students, and the same may be difficult for the slow bloomers. That does not mean that he has no capacity to learn at all. Most often, we commit blunders to assess the real worth of the child. The speed of leaning also differs from child to child. We start taking for granted that the child is of no worth. That is our big mistake. Making comparison among students is the worst part of the teaching. We must give the slow bloomers more chances and situations to flourish. They must get time to search their strengths in our constant able guidance and watch. They must grow by their own strength and capacity. They must not be forced to learn the way we want; rather they must be motivated to grow as per their own dreams and desires. For the sake of our convenience, these young buds must not be sacrificed. These sweet and young faces hail from different social and economical backgrounds. That different surroundings and situations create differences in children. So those differences must be well respected, not neglected. They must be included in the mainstream teaching, if not for those children, at least for the nation.

Above all, no individual is perfect in itself. In place of segregation and isolation, we rather create beautiful bond with such special people. With all love and friendship with them, we can make a land of lovely people, with common nature and way of thinking. Above all, we can provide the right of dignified living. We can instill confidence and courage in them by holding hand together. We should not let them feel aloof and lonely amid civilized society.
