माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्वशीलता का अध्ययन- SYNOPSIS PREPARED

प्रस्तावना-

नेतृत्व अर्थात लीडरशिप एक ऐसा शब्द है दिमाक में आते ही राजनीतिज्ञ अथवा राजनीति का बोध कराता है परन्तु वास्तव में ऐसा नहीं है। इसका दायरा असीमित है। नेतृत्व समाज में अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि इससे ही समाज की विविध क्षेत्रों जैसे सामाजिक, राजनीतिक, आर्थिक, प्रशासनिक एवं शैक्षिक आदि में एक नवीन परिवर्तन आता है। बिना नेतृत्व के कोई भी देश हो, समाज हो या संस्था हो सुचारू रूप से विकास या उन्नति नही कर सकते हैं। सभी को एक कुशल नेतृत्व व नेतृत्वकर्ता की आवश्यकता होती है। नेतृत्वकर्ता रेलगाड़ी के इंजन की तरह होता है, अगर वह अपना संतुलन व गति ठीक बनाये रखता है तो रेल गाड़ी अपने गंतव्य तक सुचारू रूप से पहुँच जाती है परन्तु इसकी विपरीत स्थिति होने पर रेलगाड़ी गंतव्य तक पहुँचने में असफल रहती है।

ठीक इसी प्रकार किसी भी देश, समाज या संसथान की बागडोर उसकी नेतृत्वकर्ता पर आधारित होता है। वह ही अपने जिम्मेदारियों को सही ढंग से समझते हुए अपने साथियों को उचित मार्गदर्शन कर अपने देश, समाज और संस्था को उन्नति के शिखर पर पहुँचा सकता है।

कालेज ये विद्यालय एक सामाजिक संस्था है जहाँ शिक्षक तथा अन्य कर्मचारी एक संगठित समूह के रूप में शैक्षिक कार्य में व्यस्त रहते हैं और अपने अपने कार्यों का वहन करते हैं। परन्तु जब शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में नेतृत्वकर्ता शब्द की बात आती है तो यह एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की ओर संकेत करता है जो प्रबंधात्मक पदवी पर है; जैसे विश्वविद्यालय का कुलपति, कॉलेज का प्रधानाचार्य, विभागाध्यक्ष, संस्था का निदेशक, विद्यालय का प्रधान अध्यापक, पर्यवेक्षक, निरीक्षक आदि।

इन सभी महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्तियों पर संस्थागत लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने का दायित्व है, अतः वे नेता के रूप में जाने जाते हैं।

माध्यमिक विद्यालयों में भी शिक्षक तथा विद्यालय के कर्मचारी अपने अपने उत्तरदायित्यों का वहन करते रहते हैं जिनका नेतृत्व विद्यालय का प्रधानाध्यापक करता है और उसका नेतृत्व तभी सफल माना जाता है जब सभी शिक्षक व कर्मचारी उसकी योग्यता, अनुभव, कार्यकुशलता तथा ज्ञान से प्रभावित होकर उसे सहयोग देते हैं और उसके आदेशों का हृदय से स्वागत करते हैं। उसकी योजनाओं को वे मन से स्वीकारते हैं, उसे सफल बनाने के लिए तत्पर रहते हैं।

प्रधानध्यापक भी अपनी समस्त कर्मचारियों व सहयोगियों की योग्यता, क्षमता, अनुभवों और विचारों का स्वागत करता है, उन्हें सम्मान देता है, उनको सुनता है व उनकी समस्यायों को सुलझाने में उनका मार्गदर्शन करता है तथा उनकी भूलों को सुधारने में सहयोग करता है। प्रधानाध्यपक विद्यालय की सभी जिम्मेदारियों को उचित कौशल व योग्यता के साथ वहन करता है।

प्रधानाध्यपक विद्यालय का नेता होता है, वह विद्यालय के समस्त व्यक्तियों के लिए आदर्श होता है। जिस प्रकार किसी भी समिति का मुखिया उसका सर्वेसर्वा होता है और उसके समस्त कार्यकर्ता उसका अनुसरण करते हैं और वे समिति को उन्नति की ओर ले जाते हैं और सन्निहित लक्ष्यों व उद्देश्यों की प्राप्ति करते हैं।

नेतृत्व शीलता का गुण व्यक्ति के समस्त पक्षों को प्रभावित करता है। नेतृत्व एक प्रक्रिया व दशा है जिसमे कोई व्यक्ति सामाजिक प्रभाव के द्वारा अन्य लोगों की सहायता लेते हुए एक सर्वनिष्ट कार्य सिद्ध करता है। शासन करना, निर्णय लेना, निर्देशन करना, आज्ञा देना आदि सब एक कला है, एक कठिन तकनीक है परन्तु अन्य कलाओं की तरह यह एक नैसर्गिक गुण है। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति में यह गुण या कला समान नही होती है। प्रबंधक एक कुशल नेतृत्व कर्ता के रूप में अपने सहयोगी कर्मचारियों से अपने निर्देशानुसार, योग्यतानुसार और क्षमतानुसार ही कार्य करवाता है। जैसा प्रबंधक का व्यवहार होता है, जैसे उसके आदर्श होते है, उसके कर्मचारी भी समतुल्य वैसे ही वयवहार निर्धारित करते हैं। इसलिए प्रबंधक का नेतृत्व जैसा होगा, कर्मचारी भी उसी के अनुरूप कार्य करेंगे।

प्रधानाध्यापक विद्यालय का मुखिया होता है। उसका व्यक्तित्व गुणों से विभूषित होना चाहिए। उसके व्यक्तित्व में सभी गुण विद्यमान होने चाहिए जो एक कुशल नेतृत्वकर्ता के लिए आवश्यक होते हैं क्योंकि उसके अनुकूल नेतृत्व पर ही विद्यालय किए सम्पूर्ण व्यवस्था व संचालन निर्भर करता है। कुशल नेतृत्व के आभाव में कोई भी संगठन न तो व्यवस्थित रूप से चल सकता है और न ही अपनी पूर्ण संरचना प्राप्त कर वांछित लक्ष्यों की पूर्ति की दिशा में प्रगति कर सकता है। कुशल नेतृत्व के आभाव में किसी भी संगठन की स्थिति कटी हुई पतंग की तरह होता है जो उद्देश्यहीन होकर आसमान में इधर उधर भटकते हुए जमीन पर आ गिरती है।

प्रस्तुत शोध में माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्वशीलता का अध्धयन किया जा रहा है जो वर्तमान में एक महत्वपूर्ण विषय है।

तकनीकी शब्दों का परिभाषीकरण

माध्यमिक विद्यालय:-

माध्यमिक शब्द का अर्थ है- ‘मध्य की’ अर्थात् माध्यमिक शिक्षा, प्राथमिक और उच्च शिक्षा के मध्य की शिक्षा है। अंग्रेजी में इसके लिए सेकेंडरी (Secondary) शब्द का प्रयोग किया जाता है जिसका अर्थ है दूसरे स्तर की। पहले स्तर की प्राथमिक और उसके बाद दुसरे स्तर की सेकेंडरी शिक्षा। आज किसी भी देश में माध्यमिक शिक्षा, प्राथमिक और उच्च शिक्षा के बीच की कड़ी होती है। और अपने में पूर्ण इकाई होती है। यह बच्चों के निर्माण की शिक्षा है।

हमारे देश में माध्यमिक शिक्षा का श्री गणेश ईसाई मिशानिरियों ने किया। उन्होंने प्राथमिक विद्यालय खोले, तदुपरांत प्राथमिक शिक्षा प्राप्त बच्चों के लिए माध्यमिक विद्यालय खोले।

प्रधानाध्यापक:-

प्रधानाध्यापक अंग्रेजी शब्द प्रिंसिपल (Principal) का हिंदी रूपांतरण है। प्रधानाध्यापक शब्द दो शब्दों प्रधान + अध्यापक से मिलकर बना है इसका अर्थ है विद्यालय के समस्त अध्यापकों में पद में सबसे बड़ा या प्रमुख।

विद्यालय में प्रधानाध्यापक का पद अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण तथा उत्तरदायित्वपूर्ण होता है। वह विद्यालय का सर्वोच्च अधिकारी होता है। किसी भी विद्यालय की उन्नति और अवनति में इसके प्रधानाध्यापक की बहुत बड़ी भूमिका होती है। वह विद्यालय का केंद्र होता है जिसके चारों ओर विद्यालय की समस्त गतिविधियाँ घूमती रहती हैं। उसके सभी क्रियाकलापों का प्रभाव अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से विद्यार्थियों, अध्यापकों व अन्य कर्मचारियों पर पड़ता है। अतः विद्यालय की प्रधानाध्यापक को आदर्श होना चाहिए। प्रधानाध्यापक की योग्यता, सोच एवं प्रशासकीय क्षमता पर ही विद्यालय की प्रगति निर्भर करती है।

पी.सी. रैन ने विद्यालय में प्रधानाध्यापक के स्थान के सम्बन्ध में निम्नलिखित विचार प्रकट किये हैं।

“घड़ी में प्रधान कमानी, मशीन प्रचक्र या जलयान में यंत्रीकरण को जो स्थान प्राप्त है वही स्थान किसी भी विद्यालय में प्रधानाचार्य का है।“

नेतृत्वशीलता:-

नेतृत्वशीलता को अंग्रेजी में लीडरशिप (Leadership) कहते हैं। विद्वानों ने नेतृत्व शीलता को भिन्न भिन्न प्रकार से स्पष्ट किया है। कभी कभी इसका अर्थ प्रसिद्धि से समझा जाता है। लोकतान्त्रिक दृष्टि से इसका अर्थ उस स्थिति से समझा जाता है जिसमे कुछ व्यक्ति स्वेच्छा से दूसरे व्यक्तियों के आदेशों का पालन कर रहें हों और कभी कभी कोई व्यक्ति शक्ति के आधार पर दूसरों से मनचाहा व्यवहार करवा लेने की क्षमता रखते हों तो उसे भी नेतृत्व के अंतर्गत सम्मिलित किया जाता है।

वास्तव में नेतृत्व का अर्थ है आगे आगे चलना। जो व्यक्ति कार्य को पूरा करने के लिए तथा दूसरों के मार्गदर्शन के लिए आगे चले, वही नेता है। अतः लोगों को अपने निर्देशानुसार चलाने की क्षमता ही नेतृत्व शीलता होती है।

अनुसंधान के उद्देश्य:-

शोध कत्री द्वारा अनुसंधान के निम्नलिखित उद्देश्य निर्धारित किये गए हैं-

१.     माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करना।

२.     शहरी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाधयापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करना।

३.     ग्रामीण माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करना।

४.     ग्रामीण तथा शहरी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करना।

५.     सरकारी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करना।

६.     निजी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करना।

७.     सरकारी व निजी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन करना।

नेतृत्व गुणों के सम्बन्ध में विभिन्न विद्वानों द्वारा शोध कार्य किये गए हैं-

बी.जी. सुधा, सी.डी. शिवकुमार स्वामी (१९९१)

उद्देश्य:-

प्राथमिक और हाई स्कूल के अध्यापकों की क्षमता पर संगठनिक परिवेश के प्रभाव की जांच करना।

निष्कर्ष:-

·        समक्षता के कुछ विशेष आयामों जैसे सम्प्रेषण और अंतःक्रिया की दृष्टि से अध्यापिकाएं अध्यापकों से अधिक सक्षम थीं।

·        प्राथमिक विद्यालयों के अध्यापकों के मूल्यांकन की क्षमता माध्यमिक विद्यालय के अध्यापकों से अधिक थी।

·        मुक्त परिवेश सभी प्रकार की सक्षमताओं के लिए अन्य परिवेश से अधिक अनुकूल पाया गया।

पूनम अग्रवाल (१९९४)

निष्कर्ष:-

·        माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापको का नेतृत्व व्यवहार सामान्य से उच्च स्तर का पाया गया।

·        माध्यमिक विद्यालय के शिक्षक अपने कार्य से संतुष्ट पाए गए।

·        माध्यमिक विद्यालय के शिक्षक कार्य संतुष्टि के क्षेत्र आर्थिक पक्ष एवं भावी उन्नति के अवसर से संतुष्ट पाए गए।

·        सरकारी व निजी माध्यमिक विद्यालय के प्रधानाध्यापकों के नेतृत्व व्यवहार की तुलना करने पर सार्थक अंतर पाया गया।

     थॉमस माइकल (१९९५)

इन्होने अपने अध्ययन में निम्न निष्कर्ष दिए-

·        ये अध्यापकों के वातावरण में सुधार पर बल देते हैं।

·        छात्रों के कक्षागत वातावरण में सुधार पर बल देने की बात कही।

विजय कुमार व्यास (१९९९)

इन्होने अपने शोध के अध्ययन से यह निष्कर्ष निकाला कि-

·        प्रधानाध्यापक का साक्षात्कार लेने पर शहरी तथा ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के प्रधानाध्यापक कार्योंन्मुखी पाए गए, अर्थात प्रधानाध्यापक स्वयं को कार्योंन्मुखी कहते हैं।

·        ग्रामीण क्षेत्र के विद्यालय में कार्यरत प्रधानाध्यापक का प्रबंधकीय व्यवहार कार्योंन्मुखी बताते हैं जबकि शिक्षकों के अनुसार प्रधानाध्यापक का प्रबंधकीय व्यवहार कार्यकर्तोंमुखी है।

प्रतिमा सिंह (२०१४)

निष्कर्ष:-

शोधकत्री के अध्ययन का मुख्य उद्देश्य माध्यमिक विद्यालयों में प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली को जानने का रहा। इनके निष्कर्ष निम्नलिखित हैं-

·        ग्रामीण तथा शहरी विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शीलता में अंतर पाए गये।

·        निजी और सरकारी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शीलता में अंतर पाए गये।

परिकल्पना:-

प्रस्तुत शोध में शोध कार्य से पूर्व अधोलिखित परिकल्पना निश्चित की गई है।

·        ग्रामीण तथा शहरी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली में कोई सार्थक अंतर नही होता।

·        सरकारी तथा निजी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों के नेतृत्व शैली में कोई सार्थक अंतर नही होता।

   

शोध अभिकल्प:-

किसी भी शोध के लक्ष्य तक पहुँचने के लिए आवश्यक है की शोध की प्रकृति के अनुरूप ही विधि प्राविधि एबम उपकरण हो। इसके आभाव में यह तथ्यहीन होता है। शोध अभिकल्प से तात्पर्य उस मार्ग से है जिस पर चलकर शोध से सम्बंधित सत्य की खोज की जा सके।

प्रस्तुत शोध के लिए सर्वेक्षण विधि का चयन किया गया है। सर्वेक्षण विधि द्वारा तथ्यों को अधिक तर्क संगत रूप से रखा जा सकता है। यह विधि किसी व्यक्ति विशेष से सम्बंधित न होकर समूह सम्बंधित होती है और इसमें अधिक से अधिक लोगों को सम्मिलित किया जा सकता है जिससे की आंकड़ो में विश्वसनीयता का प्रतिशत बढ़ जाता है।

न्यादर्श:-

माध्यमिक स्तर पर प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली का अध्ययन करने के लिए दस विद्यालयों का चयन करेंगे। प्रस्तुत शोध कार्य में स्तरीकृत यादृच्छिक न्यादर्श प्रणाली से न्यादर्श का चयन किया जायेगा। इसमें कुल दस विद्यालय तथा प्रत्येक विद्यालय से दस दस अध्यापकों को चयन किया जायेगा।

शोध उपकरण:-

तथ्यपूर्ण सामग्री या दत्त जो अब तक अज्ञात है उनका अध्ययन ही महत्वपूर्ण है जिन्हें प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष दोनों तरह के स्रोत से प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। प्रत्येक प्रकार के अनुसन्धान के लिए नवीन दत्त संकलित करने के लिए अथवा नवीन क्षेत्र का उपयोग करते हुए कतिपय यंत्रों अथवा उपकरण की आवश्यकता होती है। इन्ही यंत्रों को उपकरण कहा जाता है।

प्रस्तुत अध्ययन में शोध कत्री द्वारा स्व निर्मित उपकरण का प्रयोग किया जायेगा। प्रधानाध्यापकों की नेतृत्व शैली जानने हेतु रेटिंग्स का निर्माण किया जायेगा।

संभावित निष्कर्ष:-

प्रस्तुत शोध में माध्यमिक विद्यालय में प्रधानाध्यापकों की भूमिका व नेतृत्व शीलता का अध्ययन किया जायेगा तथा आंकड़ों के आधार पर तथ्यों को प्रस्तुत किया जायेगा। शोध में ग्रामीण तथा शहरी, निजी व सरकारी प्रधानाध्यापकों के उत्तरदायित्व व नेतृत्व शीलता का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन द्वारा निष्कर्ष प्रस्तुत किये जायेंगे।

अध्ययन की परिसीमाएं:-

अल्प समयावधि में व्यापक अध्ययन दृष्टि से समस्या का सीमांकन अति आवश्यक है जिससे अनुसंधानकर्ता आवश्यक श्रम एवं संकलन से बच सकता है। प्रस्तुत अध्ययन को निम्नांकित प्रकार से परिसीमित किया जायेगा।

·        क्षेत्र की दृष्टि से-

§  प्रस्तुत अध्ययन कानपुर के चकेरी क्षेत्र के माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के अध्यापक एवं अध्यापिकयों तक सीमित किया जायेगा।

§  अध्ययन में ग्रामीण तथा शहरी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों को सम्मिलित किया जायेगा।

§  अध्ययन में निजी व सरकारी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों को सम्मिलित किया जायेगा।

·        प्रतिदर्श सम्बंधित परिसीमन:-

प्रस्तुत अध्ययन में न्यादर्श का चयन सेवाकाल, जाति, अनुभव आदि आधारों पर हो सकता है परन्तु समय और साधनों की सीमितता के कारण प्रतिदर्श में माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के १०० अध्यापक/ अध्यापिकयों तक सीमित है।

·        विद्यालय की दृष्टि से:-

प्रस्तुत अनुसन्धान में ऐसे अध्यापक/ अध्यापिकाओं का चयन किया जायेगा जो ग्रामीण तथा शहरी माध्यमिक विद्यालयों में शिक्षणरत हैं।

EMOTIONS AND IDEAS

 

The oxford dictionary defines well that, “Emotion is a strong feeling that has love, fear and anger”.

Man is a social animal and man is a living organism as well. Where there is life there will be emotions. It is the emotion that has brought one man to another man together and formed the society. It is emotion that differentiates us from non living organism. The man feels what other man suffers from. The best example of human’s emotions which we can see from the mother fondling and milking her baby.

Can anybody tell why we start shedding our valuable tears when someone dies in an accident? Don’t we show sympathy with handicapped and disabled persons begging alms?

What to say about real human relationships in day to day practical life, even in the sas bahu serials and heart rending films why do we become emotional. Why our eyes flood into tears. We say it nothing else but emotion and emotion only.

Then question may arise in everyone’s mind that what really emotion is. Emotion is an expression or an idea or a situation where someone feels the same as other feels. Not merely mankind even all living organism have emotions of their own. They laugh, they weep, they sympathize and they boast.

Have we forgotten the emotions of Bharat towards Rama, Shabari towards Rama Eklavya towards Dronacharya. They are all the unique examples which are highly regarded and revered in our life.

Emotion is the foundation brick of all human and his social values. If we abandon all emotional aspect of life then need not to weep at death of someone and the farewell of brides at marriage. Why do we start liking or hating someone? Why do the memory of departed or separated sweet ones haunt long after their exit from the worldly scene? It is all due to emotional aspect of human life.

Life is impossible without emotions. There are innumerable emotions attached with human life. Even we can say that all human actions are guided by emotions. Love and hate is the part of universal dualism. Either we love or hate. They are also emotions. Love is god, love is life, and love is music and love is art as well. Nothing is above love according to the myths and modern thinkers. It is love that prompts a man to be friend of another man. That is the first step of social structuralism.  That knits the web of society.

Emotion is the predominant and integral part of poetry and we know poetry is life. Wordsworth defines poetry as “Poetry is the overflow of powerful feeling recollected in tranquility.”

When Dropadi was being undressed, every one cried, when Abhimanyu died, everyone wailed. But why?  It was because of overflowing of powerful emotions.

Desire, anger, sympathy, love, hate and friendliness are all the outburst of powerful emotions. Man is the most dominant, wise and powerful creature of the world. He is the store of marvelous and miraculous ideas that led to numerous inventions and discoveries. Emotions are pre-requisite of these ideas.  The emotions come naturally then we modify them into ideas that help in advancement of the society.

It’s the biggest blunder of human race to take him as a lifeless object beyond all emotions. This seems quite ridiculous if one takes the man having no emotions and no feelings. This is malicious and ignorant expression of self. Nothing can be more shameful as to consider human race in dearth of emotions. It’s unbelievable and baseless. Whatever anyone can argue for the sake of logicality but his conscience will itself be not accepting what his mouth is boasting of. For the sake pedantry and prudence, one may manipulate the facts which he himself is aware of.

Someone has rightly affirmed that ‘imagination is pre-requisite of ideas, and ideas have made human race dominant over other races of the planet. This is idea and idea only that has proved our supremacy over other creatures of the planet. And it is well and widely known to everyone that ideas come after emotions and imaginations. So to say man having no emotions is merely mockery of self as well as whole of mankind.

Emotions make us as human or a living organism otherwise we are lifeless and inactive body. It is emotion that makes us feel like man. It is emotion that brings one man to another man together and that is the first pillar of the huge and magnificent building of social relationships.

It is emotion that has inspired all branches of human knowledge and learning- may it be sociology, psychology, history, philosophy and science and religion. The man was shocked and surprised by the happening in his surrounding in early dawn of human civilization and started exploring deep with faith and devotion. That helped in advancement of human knowledge and learning.  Today we firmly believe that every branch of learning is the inspiration from nature and nature is much associated with emotional aspect of human life.

If we don’t have emotions why should we worship in temples, why should we be afraid of wrongs in life, respect our elders, follow the rules of the world,  shed tears on death of someone and sympathize with suffering fellows. It is because we are having immense store of emotions in the core of our hearts. That’s why we lament, we cry, we smile, we over joy and we break if someone or something hurts us.

Our emotions overflow when someone is drowning, burnt, bleeds in accident, is bitten by snake or cries in various pains of the world. Why our hands move automatically to help the persons in urgent need.

The man without emotions is a stone, a lifeless object and everyone knows that lifeless object cannot make the world go ahead. These mechanical instruments require wise skills to be controlled and operated. That is possible only by human with emotions.

Without emotions we are robotic in nature that only knows how to perform the acts not why to perform the acts. This type of tendency brings catastrophe and large scale destructions.

Whenever there was loss of emotions there was destruction and panic. The consecutive two world wars and innumerable battles gave nothing fruitful to the world. In guise to accomplish the hypothetical ambitions there had been huge destruction of human sweat and blood.

When ideas and emotions are placed together, we firmly avouch that ideas mostly contribute in destructive tendency while emotions are constructive in nature.  Ideas are cruel and unkind whereas emotions are drowned deep in sympathy and mercy. Ideas bring the Hiroshima and Nagasaki situation whereas the emotions bring peaceful communication, contribution and conference like situation. Undoubtedly it is idea that has brought matchless discoveries and inventions in front of the world but we must not forget that the same ideas have generated nuclear and bio-chemical weapons that are able to destroy total humanity within minutes. But the emotions teach us to love humanity whatever region or country anyone belongs. This is not due to caste and color that creates difference between us but due to bone and flesh that makes us human and nothing else. Everyone is made of bone and flesh whatever country he belongs.

It is emotions and emotions only that has inspired in building the social framework. Emotions bring one person to another person together. This formulates family, society, and nation and so world and humanity. We all well remember the famous saying of Aristotle that Man is the social animal, beyond society either he is god or beast. Neither are we beast nor gods because we are living in society. The society is the culmination of emotions.

Whenever human beings abandon emotions and gave much emphasis to individual ideas than communal ideas they had to suffer unfathomable loss. The names and deeds of the notorious dictators like Hitler, Mussolini, Bismarck and Napoleon is the burning and unique examples.

Someone has factually remarked that heart is deceiver and mind is receiver. Man is because he has fantabulous ideas and miraculous ideas. It is ideas not the emotions that have certified the supremacy of man over other fellow creatures of the planet. It is ideas that have brought incredulous discoveries and inventions. It is ideas that inspire and enable mankind to incline towards innovative novel deeds.  The ideas make the current of life, quite afresh and keep moving on. That is the reason why after centuries of advent of human civilization, the charm of living is still alive. There is hope and there is beauty.

We ever think but we rarely feel. Emotions are but temporary and transient in nature. They lack productivity and continuity. They lack force of life.

The man is surrounded by multiple ideas that help him to live life beautifully and successfully as well in the hustling and bustling world. The man having no idea is called stupid and foolhardy and wicked. He gets no respect and no attention even from the family persons what to say about others in the society.

All the time man keeps on thinking and thinking either about his personal life or about family, society, profession, the country etc. he has no time to show emotions towards others. It is no exaggeration to say that in modern world of hurries and worries we don’t know what’s being cooked in neighbors’ kitchen. If someone dies in the neighborhood, the news we get when we get the formal invitation of final rituals. Not only this, we hurriedly pass through the road and see someone died in accident, but we have no time for showing emotions for the fellow. We take it granted that such cases occur regularly.  Just remember how we pass through crushing the lamed or disabled person sitting at pathways and footpaths. We even cry slangs on these pathetic fellows.

Ideas have made the man to feel proud of his race. It is ideas that have led to climb the skyward mountains, to dive bottomless oceans and fly immeasurable spaces. Emotions beget fears and out of fear such adventurous tasks are impossible.

Ideas have brought man from primitive and nomadic stage to a civilized and cultured stage.  We have the mechanical facilities that make the life go smooth and comfortable. Today we boast of high skyscrapers and magnificent buildings, sophisticated transportation and info-technology. That is all possible from the grand ideas not frail emotions.

Just imagine what we would have been if we had seen emotions and emotions only. Emotions make a man weak and a man nothing to do. Emotions are fantasy while ideas are the fact. And everyone knows how long fantasy can help us. Fantasy is cheater and so are the emotions.

One of the famous writers of English literature, the dramatist and essayist, George Bernard Shaw whose dramas are called as the drama of ideas has confidently said that ‘it is ideas that have made us to feel like man, otherwise we were beast’. It is the ideas of our great philosophers and thinkers not their emotions that have influenced and inspired the humanity. May it be Lord Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi; their ideas have guided the path of humanity to walk on the path of eternity. Their ideas are the lamps to lighten the darkness prevalent in the society. Their ideas had been the eternal source of inspiration in all ups and downs of humanity and its advancement.

How can we forget Addison’s naughty ideas to hatch the eggs and fly the girl servant? How can we forget the Newton’s ideas in leisure on falling of the apples? Even the total physical disability of Stephen Hawking can’t stop him thinking miraculously and contributing to the development of human knowledge.

Are we still in the false pretension to over crying of emotions? Every educated person will be aware of the famous saying ‘where there is will there is way’. What’s that? Is that emotion or idea? Absolutely that is idea not emotion.

If anyone is drowning in front of your eyes, what would you like to do?  Would you show emotions on the dying man or think how to save the man? Someone’s house is on fire, what you would do? To shed tears on the burning house or think how to help. The answer will absolutely be ‘to think how to save the situation’. Can we feed up or fulfill the requirement of our own or family members only by showing emotions? Can we bring the dresses to put on only by showing emotions? No and never. We have to think and act accordingly. Only after that we can fulfill the needs of ours and family members. Was it possible to make India free only by showing emotions in front of the Britishers? Was the planning and fighting of national leaders was in vain? No, to find the goal and to achieve success anywhere, we need planning and execution with full devotions.

This is quite appropriate to quote the philosophical saying that “Nothing is good or bad in the world; our thinking makes us feel so”.

Both the human emotions and ideas have inevitable and significant role in life. They must be well synchronized together. Their equivalency in life will bring florescent and fabulous outcomes. They must equally be respected and reflected.

THE PEER PRESSURE

The peer is group of being of similar age or rank or status. Sometimes as synonym to peer the words like companion, fellow and mate are used. As we all well know the famous statement of Aristotle that “Man is a social animal. Outside of the society either he is god or monster. And in the words of another well known and famous sociologist, Mcyver and Page is that “Society is the web of social relationship”.

We take birth with certain unique features and peculiarities that create differences in us and these differences lead us to imperfections. Here I intend to say that each and every individual is distinctly imperfect and incomplete. These imperfections are relieved to certain level of perfection living in the close contact of peer group pressure. Though it looks awkward but is absolutely true. This is the only peer group pressure that results in the perfect personality building. We learn it from the petty naughtiness, competitiveness, fight and fondles. That instills capacity to facing the odds and obscurities of the world and life ahead. Whatever an individual learns from the peer group pressure, there can be no other substitute of that. Though parents and relatives do much in the process of making a child to man but the place and power of peer group is absolutely unique in itself.

In the pursuit of above statement, we can firmly say that a man is influenced by the happening in the surrounding- either the human deeds or the natural causes. The influences that the companionship forms on the individual are always beneficial. This is one of the absolute facts that development is possible only when different hands unite together and formulate the greater and better outcomes. Another notable point is that the being of the same age group and rank or status builds the bond of human relationship towards infinite development more strongly than other age group and status. Moreover it makes the healthy relationships reliable, stable and lasting. The reason behind it is the same psychological level and similar desires.

Among the peers, the healthy competitive tendency develops and that helps in the achievement of the goals in life through cooperation and coordination. The astonishing fact that everyone is aware with is that the boys entering into the age of teen makes different world of friend circle other than parents. The peers can provide what parents and relatives can’t. The parents don’t have much more time to spend with the children. In this situation the children search the possibility of life and learning. Next to parents these children become used to of neighbors and afterward they make the peer group where they are resorted of all sorts of emotional, social and ethical growths.

The parents merely help in bringing up with all materialistic resources but to become a successful citizen of the world these peer groups do a lot. One another benefit that I want to highlight is that the work capacity and harmonious efforts the persons of the same age group or rank reflect better solutions.

There are strong possibilities and manifold natural capacities hidden in the very root of individual that turns into a huge and enormous shape latter on. It is better to quote William Wordsworth here, ‘Child is the father of man’.  Our local, national and international academic institutions and organizations like CBSE, NCERT are now laying much more emphasis on the issue to create congenial and loving atmosphere all around the immature and developing minds. The parents and teachers are counseled to be friendlier to them.

The most important thing in this regard is that the peer pressure is natural. It is because we are integral part of the society. Peer pressure is equal to trimming and not trimming of a tree. The pressure around us works as trimming factor which turns an individual into a beautiful personality like a beautiful tree in proper shape and direction. Otherwise it moves into undesirable direction, awkward movement and ugly form. This is why the saying seems true that spare the rod spoil the child.

So I am of the strong opinion that peer pressure is genuinely beneficial in making a child into a responsible and successful man.

The factors which play crucial role in the life a child is the age growth. During teen age and adolescent stage, there are certain specific traits like stormy, gusty, heroic, rebellion, risk taker, immense energy, imaginative, sentimental start reflecting in their behaviors and attitudes. More about their gradual age growth can also be attributed as to be sensitive, revolutionary and radicals. In such an equivocal and aggressive age they also tempt to brave acts, out of odds and adversaries. The social and psychological changes also prompt towards perfection as a man into magnitude magnanimity. They tend to be the hero of real world around them.

Their personality stealthily gets molded into an individual or group personality which is perfected by peers or group living and this can be said to be another great benefits of group living.  Their social, economical, psychological upliftment in local, regional, national or international reference is possible only through healthy cooperation and competition resulting in quality. The undeniable fact that the man is a social animal and outside of the society either he is God or demon.  Any being away from peer pressure is equal to untrimmed ugly and unruly tree branches whereas under peer pressure is well trimmed bewitching and beautiful tree.

The children are checked against evils and are bewared of devils which prompt for good doing. The critical and cynic surrounding of peers beautify their personality as detergent soaps which cleanse away the dirty deeds, converting into sublime glitter of golden human being.

    The ragging much condemned but it has goodness too. it improves group performance the children and assists in all competitiveness in future life and career.

The peers are like the paramount and peerless friendship of Sudama and Krishna and their friendship is still a great source of inspiration and ideal for the generations.

AGAINST

According to the worldwide surveys and researches in psychology and the latest development in the knowledge of human mind and learning, the pressure of any type or in any form is resistible in the development of healthy mind. And everyone knows well that healthy mind dwells in healthy body. Until a man is both physically and mentally sound, any sort of progress in his life can never be imagined. Consequently if a man does not develop, a nation does not develop. Pressure rather forms catastrophic ground to annihilate the very root of humanity.

Imagine the pressure to the undeveloped or developing minds of the teen agers. The mental growth gets stunted and crippled. That leads towards suicidal tendencies and nihilism. The pressure is on teenagers and adolescents in multiple hues like ragging, cut throat competition, lavish of performance etc. and this pressure culminates into huge depression, inferiority complex and abnormality in their nature and finally they all lead to suicidal tendencies ending into nothing. With a fellow, the family, society, nation and above all whole humanity gets severely affected. Nothing is more degrading and shameful when someone assumes that he has the worthless existence in the world.

We all are bundle of differences. And these differences come out from our family backgrounds, the neighborhood and the community we live in. When all these differences clash together in teenagers they find it hard to adjust with others. Because of it, mental clashes of different type, starts. All the vices and bad habits the start assuming ground into them that results in form of corruption, crimes, terrorism etc. that’s why I strongly oppose the view that peer pressure is always beneficial.

The psychologists also state one another vital remark that the pressure diminishes the working capacity either at home or in any other offices or institutions. The scolding of super bosses on the fellowmen never do well. Slowly and slowly the affected members lose interest in work, interest in people, interest in life or interest in anything that is really very horrible situation of one’s mind and life as well.

Other than this the discrimination of any type to an individual or any particular community or group too builds either negative ideologies or sometimes rebellious outburst against the person or the system. That too is one of the major factors to spread unrest and tumult in the society and in the nation. And it’s well known to all of us that “The development occurs in the lap of peace and prosperity not amid storm of revenge and retaliation.”

The world has realized and the history is witnessed that the high and super minds of the planets like Aristotle, Einstein, Addision, Arybhatt, Gallilio, Gautam Budh, Mahabir Swami and thousands other who paved the way to humanity and whose teachings are still the guiding lamps and will ever be until there is humanity, their divine and magnificent thoughts and theories were not because of any type pressure but because absolute freedom of mind and spirit. The very noticeable point over here that I want to say that these marvelous minds of the earth had glittered alone not because of and companionship or support of anybody so how can anybody think that peer pressure is always beneficial. It’s illogical and baseless.

It peer pressure is so beneficial can anybody tell me why the internationally recognized and reputed educational body CBSE all the time raising the slogan of removing all sorts or pressure in the classroom or in the school. The stress free, fear free and congenial atmosphere should be created to develop the immature mind of the young ones. And the Supreme Court and many judiciary bodies and NGOs are ever crying loud not to build pressure cooker situation in academic institutions or even at homes. The media highlights most often how the student went from depression to death only because the school teacher said him stupid.

As the sun does not require any body to shine and moon glorifies world alone in the clear and unspotted sky but when the same sky is shrouded by the stubborn clouds the very glow of the these heavenly bodies which give eternal source of life to us get adversely affected and so is the pressure all around among the fellow beings and co-habitats. I strongly favour that peer pressure can never be beneficial to anybody, anywhere or in any form.

The pressure of any kind is unjust and against the easy and natural growth of the child. None of the ground can justify it anyway. Even the term pressure is negative in itself then effect will surely be the same. The peer pressure during teen age is catastrophic leads to nothing, rather spoils the precious life of the child. The raging and cut throat rivalry and competition leads to suicidal tendencies. This is why the suicide cases even of the brilliant children in prestigious institutions top in the newspapers and media channels. It’s a general conception that the negativity attracts more than positivity and all bad habits like addiction, drink, smoke etc. ultimately lead towards corruption, crimes and terrorism.  Another havoc and catastrophe is discrimination based on trivial things like colour, rich and poor, nature differences and they also lead towards destructive inferiority complex in them. The numerous psychological surveys and researches and latest development in human psychology have stated against any pressure on human mind. They have emphatically warned that it erodes the inherent innate power in all. As if any powerful lion pitiably caged in bars and gradually become mentally and physically weak.

     Under pressure, the developing tendency weakens because progress occurs in total stress free and fearless atmosphere. During school time in teen age the pressure of fellow students compel to involve in wrong deeds and bad habits latter it becomes the part and parcel of one’s life.

It’s moral obligation to all parents, teachers, administrators and all elderly citizens to minimize such freakish pressures on young and sweet children. Let the future of the nation open their cozy feathers, flip and flutter, to fly in the free and open sky.

They must be encouraged to grow of their own accord and capacity. Let them make a world full of freedom and joyfulness subduing all sorts of frivolous pressures and bounds.

The Inclusive Education

India is a sovereign country. It is ruled under the constitutional principles of equality, liberty, fraternity and justice. The democratic tenet to individuality and individual dignity stands in the pivot of the entire system. The individual person when contradicted under the several institutions of human life, gets more value and regard. The institutions are for the people not the people are for the institutions. In the passage of time, since human race emanated on the face of earth, millions of institutions were framed and constituted, and later eradicated and obliviously forgotten. The fervor of democracy in 21st century nations is no hidden to anyone. It works on the principle of –of the people, by the people and for the people. This theory lucidly emphasizes the value of individuality. For the human society, every individual has the fundamental right to live honorably. Every individual must get the equal space and opportunity to grow. No individual must be the victim of discriminatory isolation. During the era of wars and battles, different social groups and ethnicities used fight either for prestige and power or for survival. In such a morbid and murderous situations, they required the high breeds and better built up people who were suitable for the war and battles. The weak, old and ailing people with infirmities were supposed to be the burden on royal exchequer. Such burdens were mercilessly cleared off by giving treacherous deaths. After the colonial and post war era, the democratic values and principles were championed, propheted and executed in worlds major societies. The foremost doctrine of democratic system is to deter and discourage all sorts of discriminations like color, caste, creed, language, gender, race and region which had engulfed the humanity into cavernous cavities from human society. The racialism by the Europeans towards Africans and Indians into white and black was the deadening reality some day, and to certain amount, that spirit of racial supremacy on high race ethnic base is still present. Many Indian scholars are killed by a group of hooligans only because he was Indian, he was black. Mahatma Gandhi was himself victim of racial discrimination while travelling to South Africa. Nelson Mandela fought years to liberate from the British rulers, to retaliate the curse , they have all felt through ages. Gender discrimination is another big question. The women were marginalized and deprived of human living. But with the advancement of constitutional democratic values have given a push to their condition. Today there are even piloting and progressing by big competitions and rivalries. Most despicable is that the persons, born with disabilities or unfortunate disability stay neglected and isolated to die in deep depression. The doubts and fear and lack of adjustment shatter the mental fabric and paralyze him forever. Deformity and disability is no bar in progress and pleasure of man. We have millions of success stories who had been magically and exceptionally talented despite being physically deformed and disable. Inclusive education is to include and involve the faces of every strata of society and all walks of life. The children of all hues and color must be the integral part of the academic arena. In the physical look and individual capacity, they all may look varied but that diversity becomes a power after uniting together. Just shape of the palms and fingers, they vary in size and strength but after they unite into a fist, they assume an enormous blow. Our body is itself, a unique example. Different parts of the bodies have different roles like ear hears, eyes see, nose smells and skin feels so are others, but after uniting together, they form wonderful creation. If we separate all of them, they even can’t function, but after getting united their strength gets multiplied. Same is the case of inclusive and exclusive education. Time to time, government have planned to provide better and healthier facilities to differently abled people. In the book of government record we can find the girls colleges, colleges for blinds, colleges for deaf and dumb and colleges for orthopedically challenged children. Though government provide system, budget and manpower handsomely with good spirit, yet it is quite unaware with consolidated and integrated future impact of it. Human nature is built and brought up on the impressions of surrounding and situations a person lives in. The books and institutions give us stores of information. They fill our mind with pieces of knowledge. They make us aware and updated with the happening around. They guarantee to provide us certificates and degrees. They provide us diplomas and qualifications. But the life skills and dexterity of living we learn by mingling into human behavior. We learn more by informal communications and less by formal communications. Our notions are shaped by interpersonal relations and interactions. Our behavior is molded by looking into the eyes, gestures and personalities of others. Unconsciously we learn a lot. The havoc of keeping all future citizens separately taught is the way to make more citizens of dissent and discordance. We are generating multiple groups fighting together with their innate instincts. We are rather creating chaotic and turbulent nation than a harmonious and symphonious one. We are on the way of making foreigners in our own country. The worst scene is that those hallmarked for some disabilities start developing a complex, negative and inferior. They start thinking that they don’t have equal strength and capability like normal people. They start feeling isolated, depressed and psychic. They even feel that they are the burden on the nation. They develop suicidal tendencies. The surveys and researches prove that each individual entity is unique in itself. Above all, no individual is perfect in itself. In place of segregation and isolation, we rather create beautiful bond with such special people. With all love and friendship with them, we can make a land of lovely people, with common nature and way of thinking. Above all we can provide the right of dignified living. We can instill confidence and courage in them by holding hand together. We should not let them feel aloof and lonely amid civilized society.

भारत विविधताओं का देश है, और इन विविधताओं में अजब का तालमेल है। ऐसी मान्यता जनमानस में व्याप्त है। कश्मीर से कन्याकुमारी और कच्छ से नागालैंड तक रहन-सहन, बोल-भाषा, वेश-भूषा, खानपान, व्यवहार और संस्कृति में अद्भुत अंतर नजर आते हैं, फिर भी भारत प्रागैतिहासिक काल से आज २१वीं शताब्दी तक विदेशी आक्रमण और आतंरिक झंझावातों के बावजूद भारत सीना ताने मजबूत खड़ा हुआ है। इस बात पर लोगों का सीना फक्र से चौड़ा और गदगद हो जाता है। पर की इस भूमि में इंसानियत को दफना देने वाली और मानवता का कत्ल करने वाली नियम कानून और प्रथाएं शासक वर्गों द्वारा बनाई गई, जैसे वर्ण व्यवस्था, जाति व्यस्था और छुआछूत। आदिवासियों और महिलाओं को भी कोई सम्मान जनक स्थान नही दिया गया। शासन व्यवस्था से जुड़े लोगों ने अपने लिए और अपने आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए कानून्र बनाकर विशेषाधिकार सुरक्षित कर लिया। और बहुसंख्यक लोगों को तंगहाली और अपमानजनक जीवन जीने के लिए छोड़ दिया। इसका एक सबसे बड़ा नुकसान यह हुआ इस देश को की सोने की चिड़िया कहा जाने वाला देश दुनिया के सामने पिछड़ गया। यहाँ के अय्याशी राजाओं, पाखंडी मंत्रियों, अन्धविश्वासी व्यवस्था और भेदभाव के जहर से मुट्ठी भर लोग आकर इस देश को गुलाम करते रहे, बर्बाद करते रहे। अंग्रेजों के जाने के बाद और लोकतान्त्रिक संविधान होने के बावजूद भी सत्ता के मद में पागल शासक वर्ग आज भी उसी स्व विनाशकारी व्यवस्था को कायम रखना चाहता है, जिसमे उसके पास धार्मिक, सामाजिक, आर्थिक और राजनीतिक विशेषाधिकार सुरक्षित रहे। ‘सुलगती सच्चाई’ भारत के इसे असली तस्वीर को बयाँ करती है। एक ओर तो उच्च वर्ग अपनी शोहरत, खानदानी दम्भ और दिखावे में चूर, बदलती बयार में खुद को बदलने में अक्षम है, मजबूर होकर अपराधिक प्रवृति अपना रहा है, दूसरी तरफ निम्न वर्ग थोड़े संवैधानिक रियायतों से तिरस्कार और विरोध के बावजूद खुद को खड़ा करने का प्रयास कर रहा है। अभी भी निम्न वर्ग की आजादी के रास्ते में शासक वर्ग काँटा बना हुआ है। वह अपनी शक्ति, सामर्थ्य तथा सत्ता की ताकत से निम्न वर्ग की राह में रोड़े खड़ा करता है। भ्रष्ट आचरण और सत्ता के दुरूपयोग से भारत की छवि को धूमिल करता है, कलंकित करता है, जबकि उसे भारत और भारत में रहने वाले समस्त लोगों के समान उत्थान और विकास को प्रोत्साहित करना चाहिए। भारत के पिछड़े होने का यह एक बड़ा कारण है। जिस प्रकार शरीर के हर अंग और हिस्से के मजबूत होने से ही शरीर को स्वस्थ और ताकतवर कहा जा सकता है न की किसी विशेष अंग के जादा मजबूत होने और अनेक अंगों के कमजोर होने से, उसी प्रकार भारत के हर नागरिक के समान अवसर और समान विकास से ही भारत मजबूत बन सकता है। ‘सुलगती सच्चाई’ इसी सन्देश को आम जन मानस तक पहुचाने का प्रयास करती है।

SYNOPSIS OF “HOPE AND HAPPINESS”

The book titled ‘Hope and Happiness’ is the collection of the poems which was penned in a good length of time between 2005- 2017. These are the reflections of the author’s mind on different time and circumstances. As the author’s life was full of challenges, socially and financially, so the pensive mood is sporadically exhibited. Thereafter a positive note in each poem is visible too. To say these poems subjective and autobiographical in total will be partially true. As they exhort some universal and people- in -common philosophies of life. The exuberance of individuality of the author is subdued by generalized delineations of things, situations and people. At some stages he seems to vent the voice of marginalized and deprived people of the society. Organized and integrative feelings are no less presented than individual ones. The earlier poems look more sorrowful and later seem the brave spirit craving to fight with all odds and eerie of life. The earlier poems look more systemized and rhymed and later rather composed in free verse where emotions and ideas dominate over the structure. Least pedantry is shown and more focus is to express the heart innately in simple and honest manner. He does not follow any specific pattern of writing. So the length, lines, diction and form deeply vary from each other. Above all this is an experimentation to express the emotions and ideas in poetic form. It is an attempt to enter into the active literary world of writing with huge future prospect to illuminate the humanity by simpler and sober ways. Though this may not show mastery over the poetic art, yet storms and volcanoes in the heart and mind are crazy to produce something big and vibrant. This initial publication and positive responses will boost the morale to do for further versifications.
